Guest
I think this era more so than all of her previous eras is the best time to do the half time show. She's in a place that's very accessible for the general public, with the stripped down aesthetics and looks, which means she her backlash chances are way lower than usual. She'll probably do some extravagant and classic Gaga, but I think that because of where she is now in her career, it won't be something that's polarizing. She's focused now; she knows what to do. Stripped back, rocker-esque Gaga will also put her vocals and stage presence in the spotlight in a way that many people haven't experienced with her original music. There hasn't been a better time for her to do the halftime show. And can you imagine her bringing Elton on and singing a piano rock ballad in that stadium? Amazing. This is exactly what I'm getting at. She's already done all she can do to slay the GP (Oscars, National Anthem, Tony C2C era, AHS, etc...). Super Bowl half time would force her to either stick to Joanne era indie rock vibe (and alienate fans AND the GP, most likely) or go full on Gaga and give the GP & pop fans the bops that they love, but alienate the "straights" (sorry to generalize) by performing washed up tired old dance hits at their pigskin mega-fest. I just don't see how this opportunity could advance things for her. But if there's one thing I've learned about Gaga, it is to never underestimate her. So if she wants to do it, I'm here for it. Iwontell 7,312
I really don't know... In a way it's a big moment of exposure and if she delivered a convincing performance, that showed American how she has changed and evolved, it could revitalize her career - or at least give her a couple of days of good press. However, it's one of the most coveted stages in the world, so she'd be extremely scrutinized and if anything went wrong or if she rocked the boat in any way (like Beyoncé did), it could backfire so much... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

It's why she sells "Boycott Beyonce" t-shirts at her show. Obviously not bad enough to derail her era, but many conservative folks felt like she was throwing Black Panther hostility in their faces and pushing a violent anti-police agenda (so bad that some off-duty police officers refused to work as private security at her Formation concerts). I've been to 2 Formation tours (San Diego and LA) and both times, there was an interesting chemistry between the fans flooding into the arena and the cops hired to manage the crowd. I never saw anything out of line (mostly respect going both ways, tbh), but there was definitely a unique and peculiar energy to be felt from both sides... a ripple effect of the Super Bowl, if you will. I'm 1,000% behind Beyonce's performance (and feel it was in no way anti-Police), but I do think that it "hurt" her in the eyes of many conservative fans.
