Why do every Gaga song have this?

The other day, Telephone was playing on the radio and I noticed that Gaga always keeps the background music at the same volume when she starts singing. Most artists (Rihanna, Sia, Ariana, etc) have background music that starts sounding lower when they start singing so you can focus more on their voice and the lyrics. Have you ever noticed this?

Note: in case everyone knew this before me, don't hate me :flop: #flopfan

The thing is that I don't understand why she does this. Imo songs sound more balanced and polished when they have lower music while the artist is singing. Why do you think she does that? Maybe she's insecure about her vocals? (I doubt it tho) I think using that "effect" is one of the reasons why people used to think that she wasn't a good singer, more like an average one.

Thoughts?

She also often uses second voice on many songs throughout the songs. Like Alejandro. I guess that's just how she likes it

I think it is because of the amalgamation of instruments and voice. They are not seperate but united. Furthermore, it adds to a "messy" effect like both outros of PI and MTN, you don't focus on the voice and neither the instruments, you just get that adrenaline because everything comes together.

That being said, I think Gaga's songs are always better when she plays it on a piano.

I mean she is no Selena Gomez so she has to hide flaws in her vocals behind loud background music

Instrumentals sound a lot louder on the radio, where the entire track is compressed further than it already is. I think Gaga's albums are very well balanced in that regard, for the most part. And as others have already noted, her strong vocals are the focal point of nearly every song.
