I like how some people can't handle her music. Like yeah it's dark and disturbing and has a child like twist but it's life and the music and the videos and all that go together so great. She's an artist that REALLY knows what she's doing and she's doing it so great and early. I understand her character Cry Baby. I can relate to her life and situations she's been though. It's dark stuff no one likes to talk about but it happens to people and Im glad theres someone with the balls to go out and tell a story. And no she won't keep the "Baby aesthetic" her entire career. Each album she comes out with (for as long as she decides) will be about Cry Baby growing up and experiencing different parts of life. The first album was about the child hood of this character. Next album will be about the town CB lives in and the people she knows and stuff like that. I think it's a fantastic idea.

OMG I've just been listening to her all day, I was listening to Bombs On Monday when I came across this thread.

Funny thing is, I was literally just about to check her social media for any news, and accidentally clicked on GGD instead, and I still came across news   that is so strange.

I'm so excited to see more from her! I'm a huge fan. I'm surprised she's so misunderstood by so many Gaga fans. I would've thought an artist who brings something different to the scene, who is really focused on visuals and story telling/concept albums would've gone over well here if anywhere. Oh well.

 

I can't wait for the next videos! They must be Mrs. Potato Head and Pacify Her. I'm so excited for Mad Hatter though. One of my favourite songs, one of her more energetic songs, and the whole song is basically one big reference to Alice In Wonderland. So I can't wait to see what she does for that one. I feel like she's saving some budget for it, and going to make an awesome video to close out the era with!

 

Also looking forward to seeing what else she brings to her shows! As her budget grows, so will her shows. She said that her dream would be to enact scenes like music videos live on stage if she could. That'd be absolutely killer!

Thank you for defending her so I didn't have to jump in and say it! So many people here just don't get her art. Or they refuse to give it a proper review and stay blinded by what 'everyone else is saying'. Pfft. 

Adding to what you said: to understand her people need to realise that she's inspired by things like Alice in Wonderland, Mark Ryden's artwork, and nursery rhymes and fairy tales. That's why her music has such a whimsical darkness to it, and her videos aren't necessarily set in our world. She's an artist who write all her own music, conceptualises the videos herself, writes them, directs them, and even pays her own money into making them. She's a dedicated artist through and through. Her passion and drive for her unique art reminds me of only one other person I've heard of before... and I'm posting on her fan forum right now...

 

And her next album isn't necessarily about the whole town... it's set in a very specific place in her town...

I'm sure you've seen what other people have been saying in response to this, but yeah, she's really not trying to do that. Speaking as someone who've very opposed to the sexualisation of children, I see no problem with what she does. Yes, some of her stuff is disturbing, which is the whole point. She wants us to question harsh realities that happen to a lot of young girls.

It's meant to be disturbing. It's about a girl who plots to kill the man who's kidnapped and raped her. The whole story that she tells with the album is meant to be dark. It's a concept album designed to speak to the difficulties a lot of girls suffer from and make us question them. She really isn't trying to be a sexy baby, she's meant to be a young child who is forced to grow up too soon because of unfortunate circumstances. Granted, some of it can be a bit creepy but if it didn't unsettle us, her point wouldn't be proven.

I thought this initally, especially how they follow each other on the album, but now I think that it could be Mrs Potato Head as a standalone and then Pacify Her/Mad Hatter. It works when you think about it. Mrs Potato Head is a genuinely serious song about surgery, so it's best handled completely separately in its own video. But Pacify Her is a dark song about wanting to get rid of someone you don't like. So, wouldn't it fit that it would work side by side with a video like Mad Hatter, which is about being mad? I've got it in my mind that the video will consist of her convincing the boy she likes to kill his girlfriend and then the video will proceed into them revelling in their madness. Disturbing, but it fits. If Mrs Potato Head really is going to be part of a double feature, it won't fit the other video's theme at all, so I'll be disappointed if that is what happens.

I liked her in the beginning but the baby shtick has gotten soooo old. She needs to try something new. Also she's a real brat especially with her fans.
