So if Joanne is her Impossible Princess, we need to wait 4 more years for her Fever era to happen?  :madge:

Well, Gaga is still very young, she exploded during her early 20's and she still has a long way to go. Look at Cher, she was around her 50's when the biggest single of her career happened, and she already had had an amazing career.

Tiny risk-taking dance pop Queens.:unicorn:

Yeah, I've always felt they were similar in certain ways. It's also interesting because I feel the mid-to-late 90s music climate is kind of similar to the current one. Now is as a good time as any to release something off-kilter, especially when a lot of other artists are doing their own thing as well.

Plus, I feel like she probably needed a break from dance pop because after four albums of it, she's bound to want to change things up to keep from getting bored and going on auto-pilot. I feel like she will return to it at some point, just like Kylie did, because after so many years it's a genre she knows so well and is naturally great at, and she's too restless and full of energy to want to avoid such up-tempo tunes for very long.

Four years is nothing in the grand scheme of things!

I'm here more than anyone else for Gaga's new artistic adventures, it's just that I would be happy for her to be globally recognized for it once again without the unnecessary hatred even from her fans + a clapback to all the doubters and the #Gagaisoverlol trolls.

That would be nice. I am here for this new direction as it is something I have been waiting for, for a long, long, long while.

I don't care if she is successful, I care if she stops making music.

Could be so and this is a great example of how it can be done with ease. I have always believed that it was Kylie's boyfriend Michael Hutchence [ INXS ] behind this big change with Kylie, whispering in her ear, he also tried to get away from mainstream radio around the time that they were a pair, also of course, Nick Cave helped.

Great thread~

I'm literally listening to Listen Like Theives right now. :awkney: I've always thought it was Hutchence that pushed her to leave radio pop behind and make better music.

Gaga is most certainly calculating her moves very carefully.

Joanne is a stretch of her jazz-acting-national-anthem-documentary era where the GP started to recognize her true talent as a musician beyond a performer. With a pop album in this category, Gaga is bound to reset people's expectations upon her leaving the ground ready and fertile for an "explosive" album.

She did?!! :O

It was ages ago, like around 2008, but yes! She even said back in 2012 that Kylie's Aphrodite stage inspired the Born This Way Ball stage.
