This is quite obvious from the collaborations she's announced but what does this mean really? Cause all I'm getting from Interscope is "So Gaga's song has bombed on Itunes so now were gonna stick the word Indie in front of it to cover our backs cause we have no faith in the album". She just makes music that she likes and feels a connection to at that point in her life. Indie actually comes from the term independent. It was originally used to describe an artist who 'makes it on their own' or basically doesn't use big companies/record labels to help them out. Obviously Gaga is still sticking with Interscope and getting that support :P But nowadays indie is used to describe music that doesn't hit the mainstream radio, or which goes against the grain of what is currently popular. From the people she's working with, it may be pop record with indie rock influences, I mean, with people like Father John Misty, Beck, and Florence, they must have had some sort of influence when creating the song. It's still definitely going to be under the "Pop" hemisphere, but it's also definitely going to be a different type of pop. See Grimes for example, lots of radio/YouTube interviews, photo shoots, festivals, small gigs, but no TV performances and zero presence when it comes to Award shows (see Vma's and the like).
