it's sad...

even facing the prejudice in the skin most gays are sexist and racist, and very stuck to stereotypes of masculinity and beauty. It's basically all about selfish thought that moves our consumerist society.

The most well put set of words I seen on this website all day.

It's just a joke really. A long running joke... It's obviously not always true! :laughga:  Just like there are actually straight men who like Gaga and her music too.

It does get a bit tiring though, you're right...  I think people just need to chill on it a bit, but also don't take it too seriously.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Care to explain where it doesn't apply?

You said it stems from femininity being seen as bad or less than... I agree but I feel like there are other contributions being made to this phenomena such as associating Lady Gaga with sexuality / sexual stances. Even if one doesn't view bottoms in a derogatory sense, there still seems to be some type of correlation between the music and wanting to put a label on the sexuality and sexual stance of the listener.

Try being a straight Gaga fan :neyde:

THIS - everyone immediately assumes I'm gay when I say I like Gaga and then somehow my ex girlfriend gets brought and everyone does a double take.

But seriously guys, I want to know how it is to be a straight male in this very gay fan base, because the only straight guy I know who likes Gaga isn't straight anymore (:derpga:). How is it? Do you keep it a secret around girls so they don't assume you're gay? Or are you out Gaga fans and don't give a **** about what people think?

It's weird sometimes just because gay guys [idk if this is just in general or this fan base] are very open sexually. That makes me uncomfortable - not necessarily because they're about men, but because straight guys don't talk that openly about sex in detail. The most you'll get is maybe a "Yeah, I slept/would sleep with her." so the blatant sex talk can be awkward. However, I find I get along well with gay guys because I'm a fan of Gaga. That has worked to my disadvantage at times to since some guys don't respect boundaries - whether it be because they think I'm somehow lying about being straight or because they think that they can "convert" me. Which is stupid, they of all people should know that you can't change someones sexuality.

I used to keep my love of Gaga's music a secret around people cause I thought they might assume I'm gay because of it. But, that was like middle school. I'm a grown ass adult now though - if someone wants to try and make assumptions of my sexuality based off of my musical tastes than they're probably not the kind of people I want to be around anyway.
