This thread is giving me a headache....Gaga is many things, she can be a jazz chanteuse, metal head, pop star, rock star, R&B singer, avant garde artist, dance diva all at the same time, that's what she's always set out to do.  She's basically a Picasso come to life, the same beautiful woman but with many different sides...turn one way or the other and you may discover a totally new perspective!

Yeah and? I did not say she cant or shouldnt go to these directions, im actually saying the opposite.

Who said she isn't expressing herself and wants to please the mainstream as well as doing something true to her? Who said she had this division and struggle? Nobody came up with this problem except you, so I don't understand the issue here. She's making music she likes, with lyrics that's honest to her as a person, and doing different **** she feels like at this moment. Don't put words in her mouth

I prefer having Gaga release jazz albums and personal stuff (like Joanne) rather than something like Telephone (she hates it) just for the charts...

I want Gaga to be herself and release stuff that she feels comfortable with even if it flops harder than Britney Jean.

I highly doubt she is trying to "do both". Im pretty damn sure she has been vocal about just releasing the music and letting the world have its piece at it. She seems content and less thirsty for any kind of mainstream success. I do think however though, that she invested enough time and work into this music and feels she is delivering a good quality record and if people (media/critics) acknowledge that, than sells do not matter to her.

Yes im the one who said and came up with this as this is Gaga Thoughts section where we share our opinions.. I never said it was a fact or put words in her mouth! words in someones mouth means I say that Gaga said this when she did not.

You're allowed to share ur opinion but I don't understand where this whole thing about mainstream vs what she wants to do struggle she's supposedly has comes from? There are no problems at all except that she's doing something different with her music, and not caring about being number 1, life is much more than a title or a number on the charts. I think she gets that

You dont have to understand where my opinion is coming from but if you wanted to know, I already explained above where my opinion is coming from.. I explained that I feel like she wasnt a Pop star and she used Pop music but shes over that now and experimenting yet her music still sounds mainstream. What im saying is, go all the way with experimenting your new direction in music or go back to being all the way a Pop star so you saying I want her to be number one shows that you havent red what I wrote.

And here is proof that I did not put any words in Gagas mouth and im expressing my subjective opinion witch I made clear many times:

"I feel like Gaga was never a Pop star and she always knew that but she used Pop music to pop its bubble and turn its skin inside out exposing its truth and changing culture witch was amazing to watch but I feel like Gaga is not interested in that anymore and doesnt want to be a Pop star since ARTPOP was released. All that is fine with me as I enjoy Gaga in all cases even as a Jazz singer and maybe Rock N Roll aslong as she is fully expressing herself to the fullest and go all the way with the direction she wants witch I feel shes not doing! shes stuck having each foot in a different direction trying to please her needs while at the same time trying to please the mainstream and live up to what she created resulting in both sides not fully satisfied.

I feel like her career is gonna get worse by every album she releases! To the mainstream, the ARTPOP era ended after the VMAs performance but her fans loved it witch kept the project kinda going unlike what I think will happen with Joanne as the mainstream and her fans wont be interested and what worries me even more is that after Joanne, she will release another Jazz album so by that time, everyone will lose interest! I know Gaga can do it if she wanted and have the biggest comeback ever but I respect her for doing what she wants, I just want her to either go all the way with her new direction or stick to what she used to do and become mainstream instead of trying to do both. Yes I do realize that some of my opinion and points are based on assumptions of her new album."

I do sort of see where you are coming from but it does look like although Gaga does try to please the mainstream she is trying to do less of that now.

On the same end, a lot of people like to be 'renaissance people' and dabble in a little of everything and aren't particular being an expert in one particular thing but proficient in many things. To that end, I feel she is successful if she is happy with what she creates.
