Lord some of yall sound like catholic priests guilt tripping people for saying they miss previous eras. It would be wrong not to have an opinion on her new work.

Hopefully she will! Intrested to see how this album sounds and how it's received.

Yeah, it looks like you if you don't like anything about the new era you're a bad monster or a hater. I'm against people who criticize every single thing she does like trolls, but constructive criticism is perfectly fine. Of course that some monsters weren't expecting this new Gaga, and they have every right to express their feelings.

There really isn't anything more to it

See, I was having this debate with a friend today. We both agreed on one thing: things started to tumble when she took too much control.

Gaga's biggest moments (I won't say hits so no one reads me) were visually interesting, because she trusted the professionals to do the labor. The woman is now posting her own promo on social media, she produces every nanosecond of every song and oversees everything else. While all that is crucial to her artistry, it has hindered the mass appeal severely because she just doesn't have time to let things marinate and focus on the delivery. Visually, Gaga has always been... let's go with quirky, but at the same time, always sexy! That changed to "just insanely creative" very quickly, I would say around Judas time.

I cannot understand why she doesn't have a proper video director create a video for her (instead of photographers). I do not understand her love for all-black clothing (I would say 85% post-Alejandro has been black, and if not its neutrals). Sure, it is timeless but for the time being, not very striking. I cannot understand why she doesn't do a balance of commercial pop radio friendly songs and deeper cuts on the album, keeping GP happy and fans interested in the mass product and the more personal songs. Etc, etc, etc.

I know it all screams basic, but face it: we live in a basic world. My demand for success for Gaga is no more than a concern because I want her to remain in the A-list for as long as possible so she has the outlet to perform and put on masterful concerts without having to compromise due to budget cuts because of chart positions and sales.

I hope and pray a big huge stonker of a hit is on Joanne somewhere and they put that out as single #2 and force it down people's throats. She needs to do it quickly for people to buy the album because unfortunately and evidently, Perfect Illusion isn't going very far.

I honestly don't know what you're talking about

First of all, only the first single is out, at least wait until you hear the album to decide whether you'll "still be listening to it" like BTW and AP

Secondly, at least to me, she still feels like the same Gaga in interviews, she talks the same way and explains herself in the same ways that she always has :tea:

Gaga will never be Gaga again

Lol gaga is always gaga, she can just pull that **** out the bag like putting on a wig but what would be the point when that era has already been done, inspiration doesn't come from living in the past,

I have never thought about this and it is a good point. But I don't think this would ever happen or even come close to happening, she will forever be iconic.

You would be shocked how quickly the budget cuts can happen. I follow Pink's career very closely and Try This was a commercial flop and her tour for that album was very basic because she couldn't generate album sales. They only increased her budget when she became successful again with Funhouse (So What, Sober, Please Don't Leave Me, etc.)

I feel similarly.

I said this before Perfect Illusion even came out, and it may seem dramatic, but this album is make or break for me.

I'm at the point where I've found myself disliking most of the stuff she's done since Born This Way, so I think it may just be time for me to move on.
