I was very young before he passed away and I wasn't really listening to pop music in general until Gaga introduced me to the whole showbiz in late 2009/ early 2010, so no but I listened to some of his music after I grew up a little bit and I quite like him. I wasn't able to experience his music in the creation of his 'eras' but he has some really great songs and his performances are very entertaining and well thought out.

When I was like 8, it was uniform free day at school, so I ****ing kid you not...

I wore a black fedora, black khakis and a white t-shirt and WENT IN:air: :poot:

I swear, the teachers were sick of my bullshit and the other kids were like "tf?"

In a way, I adored that man more than I adored Gaga.

I still remember when my older brother came into my room and turned my TV on, saying "Michael Jackson's dying" and there were a **** ton of fans for blocks and blocks, on the news. I also remember the reported suicides, after he was pronounced dead. :(

I totally feel you!! When I was growing up (in the late 80's) my parents had an old fedora hat. My 2 cousins and I would play in the basement and take turns wearing the fedora pretend we were all Jacksons... my male cousin was older than me and would always get to be Michael. My female cousin was older than me and would always get to be Janet. I was the youngest, so I always had to be one of the other brothers, lol... Great memories. Just the tip of the iceberg in my MJ memories growing up, tbh.

He's the greatest pop star to have ever lived. I find that Gaga is one of only a very, very select few who can do the job within any degree as good as he did it.

I knew his song Billy Jean but I didn't really know who he was, I only started finding out about him after Gaga talked about him in her amazing interviews during that era.  I remember youtubing his songs and I wasn't that impressed.  His voice is kinda thin and his dance moves don't have the same power or conviction that Gaga has imo.  Even though she's not a classically trained dancer, I do believe she is a better dancer overall because she actually tells a story through dance and has an emotional, artistic quality in every move.

I've been a fan since '97 when I was three :sis:

I guess I kind of used him as a father figure in a way since my actual dad was next to useless. It's kind of poetic how Michael took me through my childhood and Gaga took me from adolescence into adulthood :flutter:

I would give anything to have had a collaboration between the two of them.

I honestly love this mashup more than I love either of these tracks on their own (and I LOVE them both!):

It was my Mom who got me into MJ!! She would play the 'Bad' album in the car non-stop when I was a kid!
