vanus 6,084
i just witnessed Most Requested lying about closer being the most requested song If you dont know what the Most Requested Live is, its a radio show where they play top (some random number idk) songs based on the requests from the twitter So hundreds of people were tweeting this acc which songs to play, i saw bunch of gaga, ariana, britney, fifth harmony fans but literally nobody requested Closer, they dont even have fans to request that heres the tweet and everyone is dragging them in replies PI was the second most requested this makes me wonder are chainsmokers somehow manipulating this song to become a hit because as far i saw most of the people dont really like the song, or they dont think the song is anything special i honestly rarely see that anyone says they love this song but its number 1 everywhere its just makes no sense imma cut a bitch

JustAnotherDay 8,402
Everyone in my class likes it and it's so annoying, I don't think it's payola as much as just the gp having bad music taste, everyone who actually cares about music doesn't like it though, the radio call out scores are really bad. I just hope it become sold to everyone really quickely and falls super quick was NickARTPOP
RaRaRamen 1,358
The people who did request it, if any, were probably Halsey fans, not Chainsmokers fans...do those even exist?? I need a winter candy apple and an iced gingerbread candle, both three-wick, or I'm boycotting.
OBEY 57,109
Everyone i know love it and every club i go to does insane when it's getting played. I love it also.
Emvee 8,549
No, they most likely chose it as most requested because it's clearly the most popular song right now. Everyone requesting online is just a stan. These people aren't oblivious to stan culture. In fact, they go out of their way to not appease stans. Benji 20,113
If you head over to that show's facebook page, you'll see they're giving away tickets to see them live so everyone is commenting about them hence the win. This isn't even a "scam" ... Radio deals are real, Gaga just did a f*ck tonne of them. Also, like some others have said... radio shows will not give into spam from stans, if anything it hurts the cause because they won't even include people requesting that song. TheFame Monster 9,000
I have a friend who was on YouTube and he was about to start talking about it and I said it was garbage. Shut him up.
ReidOne 12,427
This is Adam Alpert, the manager for The Chainsmokers (he literally made them and made them famous). Looks like a scammer-bro to me.
Bette Davis 12,742
I don't think it's a scam.. it's just one of those brainless, easy songs that people like to party to. I wouldn't doubt it's the most requested as those types of songs gain momentum, popularity fast but are forgotten just as quickly. Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet. If a station is being paid to play a song they have to tell you it was sponsored or brought to you by. If not then it's payola. Perfect Illusion was brought to you by iHeartRadio, therefore it wasn't payola.
hausofkc 2,530
I have never heard that closer song and I listen to top 40 radio. I don't understand how it's number 1.

They just so happen to be giving away tickets to see The Chainsmokers live which means a lot of the comments on their page are people talking about them, thus they're trending. That isn't payola.
