The X Factor. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets to number 1 here at some point its so good. Gaga songs almost always grow here. People are starting to realise she is back!

Everything an artist  performs on the live shows it shoots up into the top 5.

She always performs on the X factor when she has a song out at the same time.

I didn't even know she had released i initially. I was a huge fan and if I hadn't the GP wouldn't have. Given that it was a successful debut.

Not too bad, considering. Put it this way, it's debuted and peaked higher than the new lead single from Olly Murs (his lead single has only peaked at #15 thus far and this is despite him having 2 top tens, a #11 and #1 album selling over 700k in 2014). So, it could be worse. We've seen a lot of singles grow from nothing in the last year or so, especially this year. A top ten is certainly possible.

Let's not pretend that this single even remotely sounds like 2016 hit material. For it to smash, there has to have a lot of promo. Too bad Gaga doesn't seem like the type who goes for the bling anymore.

Um...there are a lot of much more dated sounding songs out there that have gone to #1 last year. I'm still shocked to the core that Jess Glynne's Don't Be So Hard On Yourself managed to go #1. It sounds like the most boring, dated 90's production and not in a good way. It blows my mind how something so blatantly uncool could be a hit. Even my 64-year-old mother heard that song and thought it sounded dated as hell. So, in a world where this and other boring house music can go to #1, this should have fitted in nicely. It's weird how they don't accept this kind of music from a big name artist who has had repeated success but will happily turn it into a hit if it's by a one hit wonder or a one-era wonder. And when boring songs like One Dance go to #1 for weeks on end, you wonder what people have against a more upbeat number for a change. PI says "hit" more than a lot of tracks in the charts right now. Yet, it's the one the public won't accept immediately.

Well it's not the best debut but I do think it can roar into the top 10 next week if she does some tv performances

@UK Monster when does the hot 100 release the new chart for US?

Tuesday I think but they sometimes decide to push it back a day or bring it forward a day for some reason.

It did not even chart in the US...

UK likes it house music as always I guess.

Seeing as the thread is about its UK chart position, it seemed natural that I'd compare it to UK tastes. Jess Glynne wasn't even launched in the US, so it's no surprise that she didn't chart there. Based on the kind of dance music that the UK's made successful as of late, PI should have been another easy hit. They sure accept more boring dance music with worse vocals.
