DMTT 160 Posted January 24, 2012 Share Posted January 24, 2012 so after officially listening to the whole thing, i have to say that i think the cohesiveness is a great thing and a bad thing. i LOVE the fact that it sounds like one embodiment of music, that it flows and everything fits on the record. however, a lot of the production is so similar that sometimes, it gets overwhelming and i get lost in the song, not really know which is which. they lyrics are great, obvs. i think: born to die video games national anthem dark paradise summertime sadness lolita carmen are the standout/my favorite tracks. the whole album is really nice, i just wish there were a BIT more diversity. like florence and the machine's ceremonials (it's a very cohesive record, just more diverse so that each song sounds a little different). so glad i finally have the album though :) i know a LOT of the songs are gonna grow onme :D Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
