I think Perfect Illusion alludes to Venus... I do it in my own music, I recycle certain melodies if two or more songs are about somebody. But we'll never know for sure. I thought "Venus" was about the perfect kind of love and about how her previous experiences with love couldn't even compare to it. Anyway, no. "Perfect Illusion" is about fake people and about learning to differentiate between what's real and what's not. There are plenty of fake b*tches in the world, and Gaga's certainly crossed paths with many such individuals. The illusions can be so appealing at first, but illusions are all they are.
