In Case PI Fails To Smash...

Before y'all drag me, I'm one of the biggest few PI fans here, I listen to it everyday, 10x a day at least. I hope this thread wont imply that I'm dragging the song.

I know it's too early for this topic, ofc PI is not over yet! Still has a lot of potential. But assuming this will not take off on charts, it doesn't mean we can't get the smash on the next singles. We should not think that the whole era's life depends on PI's performance. I feel like many of us are losing excitement for the whole era already. :(

We can have our Cheap Thrills moment. Many ppl were underwhelmed by Alive, it's too noisy for the GP's ears. Ppl thought Sia won't recover and her latest era would be over soon but she proved them wrong. CT smashed everywhere, and it looks like TG is going to be another hit for her this era. :)

But what if we totally flop? I mean so be it. Finally after many years of waiting, we are getting a new Gaga album... and a tour! ;)

The Surrealist

I will wait for the MV to decide, but this song has less impact because Gaga is normal now and talent doesn't interest people, they want to be shocked.

Interesting opinion.

Remember when Stefani Germanotta tried to breaktrough in the music industry but it didn't work although she sounds the same on every other album?

It's because she had crazy outfits, her feud with Madonna and a whole new message to gain the attention of the general public. That's why she became famous and popular, the talent came afterwards.

So now we're assuming it's a flop before the US promotional cycle kicks off? :air: Never change little monsters

Ppl don't read anymore. :rip:

I clearly stated in the op that  I'm aware the era is just starting and that it has a lot of potential. But drag me I guess.

An artist's reputation and status are not solely determined by their chart performance. Beyonce's Lemonade hasn't even garnered any #1s but she's still respected when compared with Sia, The Chainsmokers or even Katy Perry. Though I don't listen to his music often, but the same can be said about Kanye West.

I don't think Perfect Illusion is so experimental as to it doesn't have commercial potential at all though, all she needs to do is promote it extensively. Radio promotion is cool but I hope she starts performing the song on national television as soon as possible. Do What U Want managed to chart within top 15 on Hot 100 and sold 1.2 million copies in the US despite not having a video because it was properly promoted. G.U.Y. on the other hand had a video, but was not perform on TV at all so it under-performed.

Make some popcorn and watch a movie.

If it flops it flops, if it smashes it smashes  I don't see why anyone's feelings or actions should change about a song because of its commercial performance

Well if the album is anything like PI, which it might be cause ronson produced it, it won't be a smash. This time around she has gotten rid of her crazy costumes and theatrics so if the music isn't there, nothing is there. Yes everybody knows she can sing but that won't get her commercial success if the songs aren't GP friendly. It also seems like this album is extemely personal to her so idk how the songs will connect with us and then GP
