What's wrong about that for one ****ing single? Make the album as convoluted as you want but for the sake of your career, is it so hard to release just one radio-catered pop single? Rihanna did that with WORK and ANTi is her most daring album yet.

:rip: Gaga's not going to make a song just for the charts. She's above that.

I'm so sick of this fanbase's obsession with chart success. She's happy, and healthy, and she's writing music that she loves. Be grateful. She doesn't want to be on top anymore, she's happy with where she is at and where she has been. Let it rest.

No serious musician or any artist would ever disgrace the beauty that is music just for the money. If Rihanna did it, well she's not a good artist.

I really hope it's a red herring and the rest of the album slays. But Interscope is good at picking lead singles, and if they picked PI it must mean it's one of the best songs on the album. And that's not good...

Interscope doesn't pick the best songs for leads, they never have, especially given Gaga's material.

they pick songs the GP will like - repetitive, easy to sing along

i mean look at BTW(album)

you really think BTW(song) is better than most of the songs on BTW(album)

I'll kinda come to your defense. Leading up to this, the GP was ready for Gaga. Everyone pretty much agrees she is ridiculously talented. They are more than ready to embrace a Gaga bop that they can digest (me included). She had all her ducks lined up and decided not to go that way. That's cool if she doesn't want to take advantage of that I guess. It's just an observation. She just won't be able to tour the same way if she keeps this up. Only Beyonce can get away with doing this

Compromise? That's not art, hun.

Exactly, that's the thing that bothers me about the people complaining,it's art, Jeff Koons is being the biggest modern artist but don't you think he has a lot of criticism? She is just not gonna do it, she wants it this way, nobody is gonna change the mind of an artist, not in my opinion.. If she feels the need to make a song like that, that's ok, but if she doesn't want to, she doesn't have to

Wait for "Hey Girl" :classy:

Anyway, it seems like Perfect Illusion is not something we should hold on to for the sounds in LG5. Since it's quite autobiographic and there's not really a concept, each song has its story, I'm thinking they will be very different from one another.

It's called being pragmatic. It's how Madonna and MJ and the Beatles all had careers spanning 30 years+. Gaga always said she wanted longevity and she is going the opposite right now.

If you think the beatles "compromised" their music for hits you're very very wrong. Gaga doesn't want to make overtly pop music anymore, you can't change that.
