Saint Laurent 4,862
So an album campaign costs millions, especially if you have radio deals etc, even music videos usually cost millions to make. But nobody sells well anymore and it's clear that Gaga, even though she's doing well, is not going to sell NEARLY enough to cover the expenses of the album campaign. So where do Interscope get their money for budgets from? Does she fund most of it herself? It's so confusing to me

Noah 26,981
Interscope, for example, gets all the money Gaga makes with Streaming. They also get like 20% of every sale. ⟡ ⋆ ˚。⋆🦢⋆ ˚。⋆⟡
Haroon 49,685
Merchandise But honestly I think mostly touring and public appearances and stuff. Not to mention that even though an album era costs a lot, each time the song is bought/streamed a sizeable chunk goes straight to the recording company before like anyone else I think they have the highest cut usually - correct me if I'm wrong
Slappy 392
I'm pretty sure she still wants to stay in the game, that's why she is promoting it so well ^^ And I hope all the promo pays off ^^
Dwightie 159
Videos cost millions? Not really. Only Lady Gaga's. The label makes money from the song sales on itunes, after everyone is paid, the artist, Lady Gaga in this case, gets like one cent from every sale. Where Gaga and everyone really make money is the concert ticket sales.
Red 98,326
I think Gaga mentioned a couple of times that some things she pays herself If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Pablo 7,919
They get revenue from their music being streamed/bought/used in tv/movies/commercials. Also their artists provide them revenue from interviews, appearances, and sponsorships. It's also not just the present artists, they still make money from music from 20 years ago. Don't visit my profile

Supersonic 49,376
Labels get their major coins from digital and physical sales, performance royalities and streaming royalities. The artists get their coins majorly from touring & merchandise, though if your material is big enough there's a big possibility that you can live from sales & streaming as well. "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen sold so much that she appearently has enough money for the rest of her life and she bought a villa in France from it additionally as well.
