If PI was good it wouldn't need defending. It would speak for itself.  :S

All Gaga songs have needed defending. Including Bad Romance.

The GP still dislikes Gaga... It's sad but true. We had to defend BR, BTW, Applause... Every single she released.

Then why did lady gaga need to defend her work for so long early on in her career? Now her early work is considered great.

Thats how it works in the industry. When she is dead ARTPOP will be considered one of a kind but until then it was "a lukewarm Gaga album." Its ridiculous.

Not true. Haters would close their ears and go, "lalalalalalalalala" regardless

Let's not feed fake fans.

Trolls need to be ignored most especially ones who just made an account here just to say they don't like PI.

So they wouldn't dismiss her as a talentless popstar. Everyone loved her music back then or else it wouldn't have sold so much. Now everyone thinks she's talented and here for her music. But PI sadly doesn't sound good, which is why people are shitting on it.. not bc they h8 lady gaga.

Sorry, nothing personal, but that's such an ignorant thing to say... The greatest and most revolutionary works have always divided the opinion and sparked debates. That's how culture changes and evolves.

Some highlights:

Superficially, “Perfect Illusion” is the story of love lost — ahem, Taylor Kinney — of waking up one morning to realize the love you thought you had in your heart was never really there to begin with. “It wasn’t love, it wasn’t love, it was a perfect illusion / Mistaken for love, it wasn’t love, it was a perfect illusion,” Gaga sings on the chorus, which devours most of the song. According to Gaga, though, the song is also about living in the age of social media, in which everyone curates and edits their lives to look better, shinier, more whole than they are in reality. What you see, what you’re double-tapping, isn’t necessarily truthful. Love and Instagram: Two things nearly every music listener can relate to. This double-meaning is in keeping with Gaga’s M.O. as a songwriter; it’s a tactic she’s put to great use on songs like “Poker Face,” “Paparazzi,” and “Do What U Want,” and her penchant for writing this way is what makes her one of the greatest pop stars of all time.

...

Others have said the song is lacking melody, which is patently untrue and a bizarre thing to say about a song that focuses so insistently on its core melody that it eventually self-references with a pretty epic key change toward the end.

But enough about detractors, who would still find a way to deride the song even if it could be scientifically proven that it’s 10 times better than “Bad Romance.” The bottom line is that the song is good — very good, possibly great — and it is arguably her most immediate single since, let’s say, “The Edge of Glory.”

...

Take that Guardian! Celebuzz knows the tea.

Just out of curiosity, I've often wondered why The Guardian has such a (negative) raging hard-on against her - is there some actual reason, or are they just basic haters? :duck:

Does Angela Cheng work there now? :stalkga:
