It's totally fine though, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I would understand why people feel disappointed or letdown from what she has created for the lead. Personally I just enjoy the music very much.

Nobody said the melody was comparable to Mozart. Taking the song for what it is, a pop song, the melody is strong.

I am talking about pop songs too. I've been playing her songs on the piano since the very beggining. Bad Romance,Telephone,Alejandro,Btw,Applause etc. ALL have incredible melodies in the verses and in the chrous. PI does NOT. It's not even close to her earliest work. :p It's a song made to showcase her vocals mostly and I get that but the melody itself is WEAK. Maybe you have low standards for popsongs :p

Maybe that's your problem, you're too hung up on her earlier work.

None of those songs you listed have incredible melodies and neither does this it's on par with the rest of her work melodically, only this song is more vocally powerful.

The melody in the verses is quite weak I'll give you that, but especially in the final 2 choruses, the melody is strong.

Of course I have low standards for pop music, a large majority of the top 10 is melodically abysmal.

If you don't think it's worth it to Stan for her, then don't do it. No ones forcing anyone to do anything, simple as that. I Stan because love her, and this era is going just fine so far in my opinion. (Ya know...seeing as how it's all of 2 days old really)

My opinion, the song isn't good but there's always many things to stan for. There will still be many things to come here and look for it. I just might not be able to buy the record, if it's not great. Though i don't believe it'll be bad, i bet PI will be my least favorite in the album.

On a bright side, even if the song is lacking, it's a different approach, i don't think it's a successful approach but at least it gives us something to look for, cause you don't know what to expect.

And she'll still slay the performances, now if that's just a normal fan or a stan, i'm not sure. I was instntly uninsterested and well that happens. I got very sad for a few hours and then moved on. It's just life, but she has much money im not gonna lose my time defending her when she fails.
