Gaga's Evolution

Before I start, I must admit I wanted so bad for Gaga to have a #1 hit--it's still possible and it would be nice. But now I realized I'm happier Gaga distanced herself from her previous music just for the sake of an easy #1.

Seeing Perfect Illusion sit beside the rest of her discography makes me so excited for LG5. It really shows how far she's come as to her development. She really is reinventing herself not just in looks. Now we can listen to her different eras and actually expect something different.

PI came from the left field. LMs (who dislike PI) are so used to EDM because that comprises like 85% of Gaga's discography, and because we got so used to the fact that she has changed the game with it for several years now. What they fail to see is that the different vibe of PI is exactly how JD, PF and BR came into the scene and changed things for good. Gaga is trying to battle her own massive influence on pop culture right now. and it is very bold.

She is reminding us that she is always ready to take risks and that we can never expect fully which direction she would take.

The thing I don't understand about the hate, is that this IS a dance song. Its rock-influenced, but it's dance music. This could be played at any bar/gay club/party and people would rage.

apparently if a song doesn't have blaring chainsaw synths and an electronic beat it's not dance music to some people 

 

 

OP: I agree 100%!! She really is trying to battle her own influence on pop music
