like if you told me this was a demo or a very rough first cut, I would believe you. Not in terms of music construction or sound, but in themes, writing, and ideas. 

 

even the reptitiveness is exhausting. And this is coming from a girl who sang "can't read my can't read my..." At least 10 times in one song, 5 of which in the outro. The lyrics chosen repeat really showcase the flawed editing on this. And tone she sings it in is over bearing.

 

there are a lot of misfires on this song and it really could have used a second look on the cutting room floor

The only thing I found objective in this is "this is not what I signed up for". You're basically saying that Gaga is condemned to your particular tastes. That's not a healthy way to view a musician or artist. If you want sugary pop there's great news for you... The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way, and ARTPOP still exist. PI's existence and creation did not banish your ability to recall those tracks or listen to them. Have at it. 

Britney Spears just released a great new pop album called "Glory". It's so sugary you'll become diabetic. 

Gaga does not owe anyone a particular style. She is an artist. This is like dragging a new iPhone model because you miss the previous models size, layout, and the way it felt in your hand. No one is sticking a gun to your head and saying "YOU HAVE TO BUY THE NEW IPHONE AND LIKE IT". But the market called for them to make a bigger screen so they made a bigger screen. 

Think of Gaga's artistic vision as the market and PI as the newest model. Keep your 5S. Keep your 2008 sound. Keep your signed hard copy of the terms and conditions you set forth in your mind for what Gaga must do to keep you happy and move along. 

 

When this song slays for the next 6 months you might be signing up for something different because this whole post was made out of fear of PI being a "flop". That's what this is really all about. Because almost every "you're going to drag me for saying this" post has literally been about that when you read the fine print. 

Now excuse me.. im going to rape this repeat button on PI again.

Not entirely. Born this Way had like 7 different genre influences in it, and showed some experimentation, yet still was consistent (except Bad Kids, which we won't talk about lol)

there is no reason for being bitchy and mean with this girl / boy (who made this thread), everyone has its own opinion, if you love the song good, if you don't, good too, I don't like the song either, but I hope it does good anyway (with general public, critics, charts, awards etc.) but I'm not going to push myself to like something I don't...we don't have to consume everything Gaga releases just because it has the Gaga's name behind...

Anyway I still have tons of Gaga music to bop to (that's why I'm a fan) like FM/M, BTW, ARTPOP, C2C (yes I'm a huge fan of C2C) etc... and  I hope the rest of the album has something for me, I know it will.

Sia, 21 Pilots, Panic! at the Disco, Major Lazer, Green Day, Ariana Grande, Linkin Park, Bruno Mars, Rihanna...

I wish the best for Gaga this era, for real, and it's too soon to say I dislike Perfect Illusion, maybe it will grow up on my with the days... who knows?

I was afraid that Mark Ronson and company take this project as theirs, and my fear came true...

but I still has a very high expectation for the rest of the album
