gagaohlala 810
Each time with Gaga's single, I need time to really love it. Was the case for BR and BTW. But for Applause, and now PI I just loved them right after. My god I love PI because it's a bop I can't stop banging my head. It's an original track. Really experimental imo. I don't know if it will do well with the GP... It's so different from Pop music today. But it was also the case with Bad Romance. I have this feeling it could have an impact kinda like BR (I didn't say the ''same'' pact). But I really don't know, time will tell. As ppl not liking it, too bad but I understand your opinion. What I don't understand is people saying it's repetitive... Applause is less repetitive for you ??? Or G.U.Y chorus is better ? I don't know... Not The Real Gaga 7,545
I really love it. I expect she will change the loudness of the song before it will drop on the album. If I'm right, her voice is not that loud on the (BBC1-)radio version...
JesseBabe 837
Personally, I'm not too crazy about the song. Still love her, but I felt underwhelmed with the first single. Idk, I like the verses, but they're so short. And the chorus gets repetitive very quickly. I honestly felt annoyed after I listened to it for a while. I just can't really see this being a song me and my 20 something year old friends bop to in the car. Still excited for the album and music video though. TheJackMonster 1,857
I think it needs to be slightly longer with some more lyrics but I like the sound.

Every single Gaga lead I've liked upon the first listen, often within the first half of the song. However, I can not say the same for PI. I've been listening and listening.... but I can't get into it. I want to so badly but it's just not happening. I certainly don't think it's a bad song in terms of quality I'm just not liking it so far. And before I hear people try to drag me for my OPINION, I loved Appluase upon first listen and I had to hear people say "I didn't like it when it was first released" & "It was a grower" for three years now, so let's not. Just say your honest opinion. P.S. I already spent my coins I will always support Gaga, I'm just not sure if I'm the biggest fan of PI at the moment. I don't like it. I like the instrumental tho. But she screams too much to a level which does not sound good to hear. I thought it would be rock going Gaga, not Gaga going rock. But well, if you guys like it, lucky you, for me there's always LG6-7-8...

Yesterday i eventually went to sleep, and now i just heard it fot the first time. Its really is in my honest opinion meeeh. Now dont come for me, i really really wanted to like it..... I AM sure that i will have to grow to like it because i will be bombardede with the song everywhere. There was a lot of talk about how authentic, soul rooted this song will be, and it has some major produecrs on it. Kevin being my favourite person on it, so i was hoping for soemthing more fresh and interesting Thet teaser from yesterday hyped me so sooo much.... and today those first guitar riffs remain the best part of the song. IT is VERRY VERRY commercial, verry verry mainstream pop, so to all of you obssesed with charting-dont worry, with excesive promo it will definetly get to number 1. So to all of you wanting cookie cutter pop tunes to bop while posting sassy gifs online- i think you got it. I was rooting for something thats production wise interesting and thatd oesnt sond like every other song on the popular radio, The lyrics are repetitive and not verry original, By now she is miles away from her pop peers/ rivals, but this song might as well be done for Katy Perry. They vocal are powerfull- but we all know that . Sorry to say, but disappointed. It just seems so boring/ basic pop Of all the dissenting opinions in this thread, this is the one I disagree with the most. No one else could sing this song but Gaga, and the Katy mention... RAMROD 109,610
I really love it. Really. I am too obsessed about it, it almost a disease The fresh breath of fresh air on her catalague and very good one at that. And it is pop music still. It is not your typical pop music that you hear as of late on radios or your friends cellphone. But it is still pop. And it will be a big hit, trust me. Reinvention is the greatest creation. I applaud and congratulate Gaga, Ronson, Bloodpop, and Parker for this amazing piece of music. And I am looking forward for more! Lol If you actually bothered to read my post, you would notice the vocals are the single thing that i actually praised..... the song istelf is boring, and the prodction is lazy(in my respective opinion)-----similar to other pop stars that are way under her calibar
Frankenztein 1,172
I was like many others confused at first, but it hit me hard on the second listen. It's kind of like jumping into hot water, aggressive and fast, but after a moment to adjust to the change in temperature the heat starts to feel damn good. Then you can't stop going in for another dip again and again for the rush of the experience.

When Bloodpop said that it was a rock song I doubted if I would like it, but after listening to yesterday's teaser I realized Gaga would deliver good music as always. And she did, in my opinion. As soon as that spectacular bridge started I thought I definitely liked it. I think the chorus is so catchy (the 2nd time I heard it got into my mind), the sound is different, new and promising for me and it highlights her flawless vocals. I'm pretty sure it'll grow on me. Can't wait til the album!

Vodka 4,478
I appreciated it more when I listened to them on headphones. It felt emergent on the first listen, and definitely different, but it quickly grew on me. The rapid verses, the emotionality of her voice, the cohesiveness of the production, and those opening siren blares, the playful teasing of the bridge, then that ascending explosive set of its refrain at the end. Perfect for replaying on loops Just ahhhhhh EDIT: I loved it. Yes, I also do love partying in moving houses as seen in that one Bacardi tv ad. NewUsername 11,412
So I already typed this out more than 6 hours ago but GGD was still acting up, so: I LOVE it, but it's not like it's her best song. The buildup is amazing, but the last minute is quite repetitive. (for the GP maybe?) And I felt like "ok, so when is the chorus coming?" But the production, her vocals and her energy are LIT! Spoiler I don't wanna be a party pooper, but the melody of the verses sound so much like the verses of this song that's popular atm in my country. Not sure if I should name it. "Gaga Thoughts" is closed to non-registered users, no? Because we all know how the soccer moms thing ended. I don't want a "Perfect Illusion = Plagiarism?" article already the first day of the release...
JustifyMyLove 2,593
I have listened to it twice, at first I was disappointed w the progression of the song but after the it isn't love thing I started to like it and when they key changed (I wanted the lead have that key I absolutely approved it, I do actually love it and I'm legit crying bc it's so good I can't) Julia Volkova #1 stan
hmm 979
Apart from the key change, I think it's great . I get some of the criticism that the song feels a bit rushed but that's no biggie, some songs work shorter but more intense
