Benji 20,113
I still don't understand your constant need to compare Gaga to every other pop star when you've posted what feels like thousands of threads saying she isn't a pop star. ------------- Anyway, it's weird to write the entire era off over a few pictures. It's also weird to worry about anyone doing that because it's clearly too early to judge so meh. Literally, who cares?

Sizzily 14,543
It seems closer to her "before Gaga" years tbh. The girl in the bars dancing and all that. Tears in the rain

13VictorC 1,102
This is the most fascinating aspect about Gaga. She is courageous and outrageous. She will rebel against all expectations of her identity. Naturally, it is unsettling to see change, therefore it is unsettling to see Gaga change. But we must embrace change, because Gaga will change again for LG6 and so on, and when nobody expects Gaga to be absurd, Gaga will make sure to unsettle us once more. ThatBoyKaley 4
Honestly, of course I loved it when Gaga wore those crazy outfits. But not every look she wore was flawless. Some were perfect, some were just weird. In the end I kept on listening to her music BECAUSE of the music and NOT because of the aesthetics. The outfits often were just gimmicks – and I appreciated them. When Gaga first released her debut song "Just Dance" or her sophomore "Pokerface", everyone was kind of unfamiliar with such a style, but nowadays practically everyone wants to stand out of the masses. And they do everything to achieve that. You see a 'Cassie' wearing green hair, a blazer and no bra – and that's just an example of how famous people try to get the public's attention at the moment. Go back to the VMAs from 2008 and such a style was non-existent. In 2008 she brought back the crazy looks from earlier pop decades and it was refreshing. She's evolving and we're evolving with her. I honestly didn't even consider her to come back with the same looks from 2008. Oh I didn't even want her to. Never liked those bangs in the first place. Of course I will always have my favorite styles (like the one from the Alexander McQueen tribute performance at the Brit Awards), or back in 2011 when she walked around with silver hair and a black outfit in Berlin. But this all doesn't matter. I'm just so happy to have my Queen of Pop back, as long as it's not another "Americano", I'm all in! I came for good music and I'm sure she will deliver! I keep thinking back to "Scheiße" and not getting a proper music video for it but still – it remains one of my favorite songs of her. No outfit attached to the song. And I actually loved it when she debuted the brown long hair in the "You & I" music video, but it's NOT something that makes me her fan. I'M A FAN because she's extremely creative. She plays with the visuals and sounds like no one else does. Everyone's trying to achieve those Instagram-ready photos that they can later post on social media (see: Rihanna, Beyoncé, etc.) and there's nothing wrong about it – but in times where contouring and baking (a make up technique) scream for the desire of perfection and the Kardashians-Jenners rule the media industry, she's like "whatever bitches, I'll just release a pop anthem, wearing denim shorts and a simple t-shirt, boots, while holding a mic". Heck – y'all been waiting for this exact moment: her showing the world she can do it the simple way and now there are people complaining? This is the moment we've all been waiting for: for everyone to realize that this woman is here to stay and here to slay. She needs to be taken seriously and for that to happen, she needed to take those concealing clothes off. Gaga is introducing us to something beautiful: the death of perfection. *drops mic* YAAAS
HausOfMark 4,274
This is her "im free, young, and amazing" era. her simplicity is most impactful. imo. -Mark
Iwontell 7,312
Let her grow...one day you'll be old enough to look behind and think "god how much I changed!" (and it won't for a second make any of what you do or think today or a couple of years in the past less genuine), so don't try to keep her from having a normal life... Sometimes calling y'all overdramatic is a complete understatement... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you. En_Sabah_Nur 9,359
The ONE thing I always use to look forward to everyday is to see what she would wear next?! What she would slay my existence with that particular day?! But unfortunately all that is long gone now(obviously), so... Here's to the music, and may it always get better & better(hopefully)! Egypt. But I feel like these opinions are misguided. The reason I say this is because many here think Gaga is only Gaga when she wears something crazy or high fashion. But if you really paid attention to who Gaga really is, then you would have already realized that what it really means to be Gaga is to be free, unpredictable, and creative. For example, Gaga's new single cover is still very much Gaga for the simple fact that she went with visual aesthetics that were very unexpected and different compared to what she has done before. And if you look deeper into the cover, the angle of the picture, her fashion, her hairstyle, and her energy is all completely different from the bland and basic pretty, polished, and high fashion looks that popstars today always overuse. Had she come back with the same crazy looks, no one would care much since that is what was expected from her. That would have been the anti-Gaga move to do. Gaga is all about trying anything and everything even if that means alienating the GP and even her own fans. In other words, this is still the Gaga you fell in love with, is just that she is the perfect illusion. Great post! Honestly I've said it once and I'll say it again. I fall in love with Stefani. Her voice makes me love her. Not her meat dress, not her awesome wigs but her incredible voice and to me as long as she continues to push HERself forward I'll be here. People out her crying over a damn single cover and haven't even heard MUSIC yet. Smh that's why the industry is failing. Too concerned with the superficial temporary sh*t. Wisdomless1 281
As a person who has experienced significant growth in recent years and this year alone at 26, I can say that I have learned that I should embrace the people who embrace how I have changed and grown as a person over time and encouraged me to not express shame for anything about myself. Gaga is only 4 years older than me and I think about how different I'll be when I'm 30 and how I expect my true friends will love the person I am when I'm older because they knew my journey and know why I am the person I become. For me, that's how I have embraced all of Gaga's work over time even if I felt uncomfortable at times because she wasn't doing what was popular but what she wanted to do, which is more inspiring than just saying you should do what you want to do and not living it.
