Let's Talk about Gaga's Acting Career

I mean I wasn't in love with her acting in AHS, I actually liked machete kills because it was kinda a gimmicky character that looked fun as hell. I haven't even finished watching AHS which tells me what I really thought of it 

 

Buuut I don't think it's possible that A Star Is Born will flop, I mean surely she'll absolutely blow the character out of the water, I don't think she'd settle for anything less. Don't forget that this is a role that has done before so there a multiple reference points. Whereas in AHS there weren't any direct references to draw from. Hope she nails it honestly.

I felt her acting was better in AHS than I expected but I'm wondering how much of that was due to her being able to (in her own way) relate to the countess. I don't know if she will be that great in roles that don't involve playing a lady of luxury etc. We can see from her music videos she can act but her dialogue always seems wooden to me.

I don't like that wooden side either, let's hope she did that for the character.

She impressed me with that the scenes with Evan Peters at the dinner table. And of course the slap in the face.

She had moments that showed a glimpse of something good, but as a whole it just didn't convince me. 

That said, I'm a really big film and acting nerd so I have rather high standards. But most of the AHS cast is just on a level of capability that out classes Gaga by miles. I hope if she's going to continue acting regularly that she's able to pick up on how they perform and grow as an actress.
