Dr. Drew show canceled days after speculation about Hillary Clintons health

Drew Pinsky’s six-year-old HLN show, “Dr. Drew On Call,” has been canceled by CNN, effective Sept. 22.

In a statement, CNN executive vice president Ken Jautz said he and Pinsky “have mutually agreed to air the final episode of his show on September 22″ but gave no specific reason for the cancellation.

CNN Money, in its reporting of the announcement, connected it to a broader shakeup at HLN, including the end of Nancy Grace’s flamboyant show devoted to criminal court cases.

But the decision came eight days after Pinsky’s comments on a radio show on Aug. 17 questioning the health and medical care of former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president. After looking at bits and pieces of Clinton’s health-care records she made public in 2015, he said he was “gravely concerned not just about her health, but her health care.”

His comments came as the campaign of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, along with its surrogates and supporters, including former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani and Fox News host Sean Hannity, have attempted to portray Clinton as lacking “the mental and physical stamina” demanded by the job, as Trump has put it.

Pinsky’s views, which he said were shared by another physician with whom he had consulted, aired on KABC’s “McIntyre in the Morning.”

The episode has been removed from the station’s website, but a transcript was published by the conservative Washington Free Beacon:

Based on the information that she has provided and her doctors have provided, we were gravely concerned not just about her health, but her health care ….

What is going on with her health care? It’s bizarre. I got to tell you. Maybe they have reasons, but at a distance, it looks bizarre. There ought to be some sort of standard for people that are going to lead the country or are going to making these important decisions. Again, Hillary may be fine with all of this. I mean, it’s dangerous and it’s concerning, but you can see—and by the way, there were two other things that gravely concerned us. When she hit her head, she had to wear these prism glasses when she came out.

…. That is brain damage, and it’s affecting her balance. Now clearly, it hasn’t affected her cognition, but tell us a little more about that. That’s profound. And then number two, when they screened her for heart disease, again, they did an old-fashioned screen. It just seems like she’s getting care from somebody that she met in Arkansas when she was a kid, and you’ve got to wonder. You’ve got to wonder. It’s not so much that her health is a grave concern. It’s that the care she’s getting could make it a concern.

He based his comments on a July 2015 letter from Lisa Bardack, an internist in Mount Kisco, N.Y., who has served as Clinton’s doctor for 15 years. The eight-paragraph letter described Clinton as “a healthy 67-year-old female whose current medical conditions include hypothyroidism and seasonal pollen allergies.”

I was reading the other night all about how her constant lying might actually be a side effect of some brain injury she made public years ago. I don't remember the details, but basically Bill said that she was going through recovery, and she made statements about what had happened, and the injury she sustained and had to recover from very often affects the sufferers memory, balance, congnition, emotions, etc. It seemed to make a lot of sense.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Nnnn I thought it was gonna be about that one member on here. Then I realized it's probably about some watered-down Dr. Phil  knock-off

It's likely Dr. Drew on Call wouldn't have lasted too much longer anyway, regardless of what he said about Clinton. The show debuted in 2011, and has at times been the worst rated cable news program during the primetime hours, drawing less than 200,000 viewers. Dr. Drew may be well respected and a TV veteran and whatnot, but no one wants to continue justifying a show's existence if the audience just isn't there for it. X

I tried looking for what I read before :duck: his show's been on the chopping block for a while now, this was just the final thing that shut it down. The amount of conspiracy theorists (or Trump supporters, whatever you want to call them) that said Hillary personally had his show pulled is absolutely ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as the people that say she's got one foot in the grave because she made a funny face when balloons fell at the DNC :laughga:

Except that she's not a compulsive liar  Even her detractors comment on how honest and compliant she is when they drag her into one of those unnecessary and costly investigations for hours and hours at a time. Also, PolitiFact, with all their fact checking wizardry, actually found her to be the most honest candidate in the entire 2016 election. Trump, of course, was the most dishonest.

Still, feel free to make fun of her "landing under sniper fire" story :deadbanana: but if you want someone that does next to nothing other than vomit lies, you'll need to look at Big Orange.

yeah they cancelled it before they even have a new show to replace it.  i've seen the whole "CNN insider says it was going to be cancelled weeks before this" but lets be honest, we know how this looks. you come for hillary, and her media friends will axe you.

he shouldn't lose his show over this but its their company and they can do what they want so :lolga:

That's how the commie, leftist, lamestream media works :diane:

"It was more likely the healthcare-slamming straw that broke the camel's back, since it wasn't even the first time he'd been criticized for making unfounded remarks about Hillary Clinton's health." Guess he should've kept his theories to himself and let his show die the natural way rather than being pulled off like a band-aid :rip:

On the bright side, more Forensic Files :awkney:

He is annoying anyway and his comments were so off, they were straight out of the conspiracy theory book. She has a doctor in New York, not Arkansas. She had a concussion from falling and hitting her head after a stomach virus. A concussion doesn't mean that you have long term brain damage for the rest of your life.

Trump just fell on the golf course in Scotland. That must mean he has brain damage! Lol

Talk about suspicious doctors...that note from Trump's doctor was downright comical. It looks like something a junior high student would write and try to pass off as legitimate. :smh:

All politicians, at every age, have brain damage then.   :yay:

Looking at Politico, Hillary has been the most honest and consistent out of all the candidates in this election cycle and Trump is rated as being the worst....by a mile!

A more serious question is what is Trump hiding with his half assed joke of a medical letter. His father had early onset Alzheimer's, which is inheritable. I would like to see some results from some real cognitive tests done on Trump. He would already be dangerous as a narcicisst with sociopath tendencies. I would like to know if his cognitive functioning is up to par!
