Kevin Parker talks about his first time writing lyrics with someone else

“I was working with somebody the other day, someone I’d just met, and it was going really well,” he said, declining to name the artist. “And I realized that was the first time I’d ever written lyrics with someone else. I’d literally never sat down with someone and gone, ‘OK, this is the sentiment of the first verse.…’

“It’s always been this completely internal thought process for me, so to suddenly find myself speaking out loud — it was kind of weird.”

Yet he was quick to point out that he’s been struck by how “free” the pop world is, how open to experimentation he’s found his high-profile collaborators to be. “There’s no prejudice,” he said, a welcome shift from the indie-rock scene, where stylistic borders are more tightly policed.

Suck on that indie-rock wannabes who've been saying Gaga should leave the pop world and do whatever she wants like indie-rock :classy:

Is it alri8 to say that i am unhappy with him writing the lyrics for gaga?

Gaga has a completely different style in terms of writing lyrics so i don't want a gp pleasing single or her to tone down her only authentic aspect which is her lyrics :saladga:

Give your love to me

If it is Gaga he's talking about, which it probably is, I'm surprised that Gaga is starting to use co-writers on songs now. But maybe she just wants dem hits and knows she needs some help occasionally.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

It's interesting to read this because I was always under the impression that the pop world wasn't that open to experimentation and being "free", and that the indie areas had way more extended horizons for that type of stuff :omg: So like the total opposite :udidnt:
