Featured Posts

I'm posting this here because the example is Gaga (+ I don't no where to put this).

http://soundcloud.com/monsterlior/effects-need-help --- How do I make that sound effect on Audacity, or Melodyne, or even Sony Vegas? The 2nd part (Cherry Cherry Boom Boom) demonstrates the effect too. I need to know! What is the effect even called? Please, please help!

I don't believe it's possible in Audacity or Sony Vegas. I've never worked with Melodyne so I wouldn't know. I know how to do it in Logic Pro, but I'm going to guess you don't have a Mac if you're using Sony Vegas.

The effect is usually just called Slow Down or Velocity, at least where I've seen it mentioned.

I wanted to know this the other day! The only work around I figured out was using 'double filter' on garageband, but seeing as you don't have a mac I doubt it's helpful

With a VST, yes.

I don't use VST's with Audacity. It's a built in feature on the newest one.

I use a free plugin called "Tape Stop". I've uploaded it for you here. I can't really find a good tutorial video, but have a look on YouTube, that's where I learnt to use it. Very easy. That's in FL Studio 10.

I've also uploaded a "help file" that came with it. Not sure if it's any use though.

I was able to do this in Sound Forge Audio Studio 7.0, it came with my copy of Sony Acid Pro and it has a lot of cool effects you can do. I was making a sort of "Studio" version of the video version of Telephone and when everybody's dying in the restaurant, the music starts to slow down. I honestly don't remember how I did it but I managed to recreate the effect, but I do think it involved a graph or something. If you still need help and either have or are able to get Sound Forge, let me know and I'll try and figure out how to do it.
