KyliesChild 16,907
The rape and death of a Turkish transgender woman last week has renewed calls for protection for the LGBT community in the beleaguered Middle Eastern country. The body of Hande Kader, 22, was found in Istanbul Aug. 12. A sex worker and transgender activist, Kader had been sexually assaulted and her body burned. She was only identified through prosthetics. Homosexuality is not illegal in Turkey, but the Turkish LGBTs have struggled recently under constant fear of persecution from the country’s conservative religious leaders. Turkey also acts as a gateway for many refugees fleeing conflicts in Syria and northern Iraq and seeking asylum in Europe. Earlier in the month, gay Syrian refugee Muhammad Wisam Sankari was beheaded. His housemates also revealed that he had been kidnapped and raped months before he was killed. Kader had marched in an LGBT pride rally this summer before Turkish police dispersed the march with rubber bullets and other riot gear. VANTABLACK 7,793
This is heartbreaking. I'm turning 22 next month, I wish I was this strong . We have a long way to go. May humanity learn to heal each other's wounds through love. And realize that our differences make us stronger. What's wrong with more colours on the pallete if they aren't erasing yours? MaryJaneHolland 77,348
I'm devastated. Why are people so obsessed with other people's lives? JUST LET THEM BE.
Rosalina 612
No more of this nonsense about 'peace', 'humanity' and prayers: It's time to do something about Islamic countries and cultures that are still living in the 7th century, and start supporting LGBT, women's, ex-Muslims and religious minority groups. These are the people we need to help, and they are under resourced and floundering.

River 127,314
Another innocent and full of love person died in the name of god and religion.. to some people: keep protecting the religious people with a soft glove, but please, don't send prayers and you're sorry when they kill someone, it's on you too. "God" must be proud, they did what it asked them to do.. So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy
Redstreak 6,653
And religion continues to show how it breeds nothing but the worst in humanity. Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~
