All the hype leading up to it, how transgressive and incredibly bold the lyrics were, and all the visuals and aesthetics surrounding its overall theme- it really was a bit of a cultural phenomenon. It's my most played Gaga song to date (other than TEOG). Bad Romance is an epic song but not as good imo. And Just Dance is basic (a bop though). Applause really is a great song with amazing production, the chorus really kicks. That is exactly what I want from Gaga on LG5, at least on a couple of songs, she does it so well.
