It's been 3 years, and I'm just so elated that she did something like this! I mean, I had a pretty rough day yesterday, and coming home to this announcement was beyond anything I could ask for! It was the perfect moment to keep her fanbase together. We set ourselves up for disappointment with the august hype, which made a surprise release in mid-september possibly less profitable. Applause was also announced a month beforehands, and that aspect did not negatively influence her chart position. What I am mostly scared of is that she'll do too many interviews. In my opinion Gaga should stay away from doing interviews as much as possible. It gives us expectations that she'll likely not fulfil in the way we expect it, leading to more (unnecessary) disappointment. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Personally, I would have liked more of a "the single is coming out at the end of the week" kind of time frame but if she releases it on the 15th of September let's say, it leaves her 3 weeks to promote and tease about the single each week without over kill. Speaking for the GP as well in today's "I want it yesterday" generation, with the VMA's coming next week the hype will slow down a bit but will peak back in September.
