Bebe 16,991
An iconic VMA fashion moment. Unforgettable. I'm sure you all remember how you felt about it then, but since Gaga has gone through her drastic style, music and image evolution how does it feel now? Looking back after her C2C looks, her Brandon Maxwell dress at The Emmys and her Maxwell pantsuit/dress at The Oscars I suddenly found the meat dress quite jarring in a way I never had before. It sounds strange, she is wearing meat and it never really crossed my mind as something so absurd. I remember originally seeing it and being like "Wow, that's amazing! It's so cool". Something about it was so striking and it was this super cool, exciting, transcendent, subversive moment for me. My feelings about animal rights aside - I could help but think it was this really awesome and strong statement. I still like the meat dress, but now when I look at it there is something so jarring about it. Like the hair and everything. I'm glad I feel this way, like it suddenly has another dimension to it - maybe I even got so used to seeing the meat dress that I forgot how it felt and now that she changed her image so drastically it's jarring to see it again. I don't even know... I can't even really explain it... It just feels so... Different. Like.. There is meat all over her

Bebe 16,991
In fairness too, I had just been looking at all these sorts of images: So maybe part of my sudden jarring reaction to the meat dress was a result of me getting adjusted to all these images of a 'classic' sort of Gaga before clicking on the google image suggestion of "Lady Gaga Meat Dress" and getting just that

The Surrealist 27,470
She looks so great. The eye makeup was on point. Just iconic. The necklace and the shoes (and the hat) were poorly chosen, though.
Bebe 16,991
I feel like nobody is even feeling what i'm feelin rn I have just spend the day distracting myself from the work I need to do by watching the C2C 'music videos' that show her in the studio, I was looking at her Oscar look and her Emmy look and her Golden Globe look and I was looking at all these glamourous old-hollywood style images of Gaga. It was like my brain was going "this is Gaga, this is what Gaga looks like" then when I clicked on 'Lady Gaga Meat Dress' it was like my brain was suddenly thrown for a loop. It was like seeing Harlow Jean, Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn suddenly wearing a meat dress. It was super jarring, I even felt a little uncomfortable at first. It was super bizarre and unexpected. Like it's cool, but I feel like my brain is still kinda reeling from the experience I don't remember ever really feeling uncomfortable by the meat dress, I don't remember it making my head spin. At the time it just felt like this really big, awesome moment and as of late I haven't really thought much about it.

KURUSHITOVSKA 20,451
I watched it live, first time they broadcaste the VMAs on free TV (they closed the free MTV channel here in 2012) and it's one of the greatest memories of my entire life, That night was HUGE, just like the 2010 Grammys. The Meat Dress is one of the most iconic moments in music and pop culture ever. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

prince 4,688
It feels like a hundred years ago now, I feel like because of Brandons classic way of styling her she's changed so much in such a short space of time so when you look at that it's like looking at pictures of you going through an emo phase
