Angry crowds smashed a Milwaukee police car, set fire to another, and injured a police officer with a thrown brick Saturday night following the fatal police shooting of an armed man earlier in the day, police said.

A large crowd turned out after Milwaukee police shot and killed what they said was an armed suspect at 3:30 p.m. (4:30 p.m. ET) on Milwaukee's north side, according to police and NBC station WTMJ.

Police said an officer was injured after being struck in the head by a brick thrown through the window of a squad car.

Police said shortly after 10 p.m. that a gas station was set on fire and gunshots were preventing the fire department from moving in.

Police reported a crowd smashed windows of an unoccupied squad car at an intersection about a block from the police shooting, and another squad car was set on fire.

Aerial video shot by WTMJ showed what appeared to be a building at a gas station burning to the ground. A second fire broke out at an O'Reilly Auto Parts store less than a little less than mile away from the shooting, WTMJ reported.

Good. An armed man was killed by a police and the community responds by torching local businesses.

Which will only hurt them in the long run.

Also making themselves look like fools in front of the entire nation.

I read reports there were shots fired at firefighters trying to put the fires down :wtf:

What kind of ****ery is this?

When they say they shot an armed individual.  Was he licensed to carry, or just had a gun on him, or did he actually take it out & was brandishing it, or did he actually try firing it at them?!

Things like this are why I can get behind BLM's movement and message but I can't support them as a group :interestinga: this is not how you handle injustice tbh. All their doing is throwing fuel on the fire.

Spoiler

No that's not meant to be a pun about a gas station being on fire :rip:

BLM is becoming more and more like a real life equivalent of Azealia Banks.

apparently the gas station they burned down is where the suspect was fleeing and with his stolen handgun and 500 rounds of ammo. also a lengthy arrest record. he was a common criminal it seems and the BLM protesters are said to have locked employees inside the gas station and set it on fire(not sure if true because i havent heard of any deaths)

honestly this is a response from what is probably a build up of frustration in the black community in milwaukee but they really picked the wrong person to riot for. BLM again looking like trash

edit: this is all just what i'm hearing though, waiting for facts to come out but it doesnt look good

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

Hey everyone. I live in Milwaukee. From what I saw last night it looks like the armed man had stolen the gun back in March. He was shot in the chest and arm while fleeing. The cop's body camera is being investigated so we don't know if the suspect was shooting at the police or at least gun the gun to them.

The people locked inside the gas station got out safety from what I saw.

I'm furious right now. Milwaukee is already a racially divided city. This will only make things worse. They said that police presence will be increased within the area that this took place (the hood). The black community really ****ed themselves up here.

I was also watching live footage from last night and watched some men get arrested as police were trying to tell people to leave and find a way around the scene (that's what I believe was happening). Of course they started getting violent with the police and were arrested. There was no point in arguing with the police. These people are making their community look like a joke.

On a another note, the news station and major keep talking about how "our" city is in chaos. I don't remember a time in which the rich/white areas ever gave a **** about the black areas. Suddenly they care? It's just another reason why this community is broken.

Again, I'm filled with mixed emotions.
