An artist is a person engaged in one or more of any of a broad spectrum of activities related to creating art, practicing the arts or demonstrating an art. The common usage in both everyday speech and academic discourse is a practitioner in the visual arts only. The term is often used in the entertainment business, especially in a business context, for musicians and other performers (less often for actors). "Artiste" (the French for artist) is a variant used in English only in this context. Use of the term to describe writers, for example, is valid, but less common, and mostly restricted to contexts like criticism.

Tho, you can't deny that Beyonce (or probably her team) is "innovative". They're doing things nobody else has ever done before (exept the music apparently). E.g. dropping an album overnight or the Formation Tour. Obviously these things worked out flawlessy because she is Beyonce. But still, that's one thing she should be known for... And for her fierce performances. Besides P!nk, I have never seen somebody rocking a stage as hard as she does. Sure you i feel like she isn't as connected to her songs as e.g. Lady Gaga (I think you can see that in her performances) since she didn't write them herself, but her energy is incredible. Beyonce is more of a performer, than she is an artist.

Yes she "steals" concepts too Gaga's work is basically a bunch of references from every artist she knows. Is that a problem? Gaga have not made up divorces because she hasn't been married But she wore a meat dress
