Personally my parents are born in Lebanon but came to Canada and had me. Every time I visit Lebanon, I cry so hard. I hate it there. People are so judgemental there, Especially when it comes to the LGBT community.I`m an untransitioned Transgender and I live in a trans phobic house so I understand her struggles. Thats why I dislike/ disapprove of the middle eastern. I support you girl. No matter what. You do you. Be brave! Gaga believes in you and so do a lot of us! Was it unwise? Sure...but this is in NO way her fault, and I Implore you to condemn the actions of these airport officials before anything else. Being trans is illegal there. Everyone knows that the ME is very hostile towards LGBTQ+. This can not be compared to rape.

If your first reaction to this headline is to question why Gigi was there in the first place, instead of condemning the immoral laws in place in the ME then the rape comparison applies to you. This is the same train of thought as blaming a rape victim for dressing provocatively instead of focusing on the rapist's actions.

Gay marriage used to be illegal, Black people riding the same bus as white people used to be illegal, hell it's punishable by death for even being gay in many countries still....so we should condemn the individuals that are subjected to these evil laws...for standing up to them? I fully condemn what happened to her. In a perfect world you should be able to go anywhere you want without being discriminated against. But we don't live in a perfect world, and in this world there are countries that will KILL you for being LGBT (not saying that the UAE kills LGBT people -- I'm just speaking generally here). If you're LGBT, travelling to these countries is probably not a good idea. Ok you can start dragging me now

The "backwards ass country" that "can't even let women drive" isn't the UAE, it's Saudi Arabia. So yeah...don't get them confused I'm sure you have an interesting point of view on the matter at hand, but at least get your facts straight lest you appear ignorant. I'm personally from the UAE, and A LOT (and I mean A LOT) of women drive. It's not taboo whatsoever (all the women in la famille drives). OT: What's happening is terrible, and unfortunately laws in the Middle East won't change anytime soon. So unfortunate tbh. We (the UAE) have so much potential to be a great country, and the idea of a secular law is being proposed here and there, but people tend to stay 'hush hush' to avoid getting in trouble. I'm really sorry for sounding ignorant with what I posted, I agree with you and I should've definitely looked up the facts first before slandering your country with little understanding of two different places. sitting on his lap sipping diet pepsi

I think it was necessary to get across your point and make me re-evaluate what I wrote, so I thank you for that. I get what you mean by 'bitchy' though; I feel like I have to use emoticons or no full stops to try and sound nice and not mean in my texts sitting on his lap sipping diet pepsi
Brian Ryan 1,468
I'm not transgender, but I am gay. Gigi Gorgeous was probably there for business and should have had enough sense to look up the law. Dubai should have raised red flags. I'm glad she's okay. Dubai should change their law. Gigi and I might be dead by then, so your best bet is to travel into countries that accept LGBT. I'm not surprised by this, but I am surprised that GiGi didn't think she would be arrested. Word to the wise look up other countries law before flying in. I'm still sorry she had to go through this... however, it could have been avoided. I would hate to see her jailed.
