This is one of my favorite songs so I love this performance and I adore how enthusiastic Carole King is - even blowing kisses to Gaga. So sweet.

I'd love Gaga to sing Natural Woman and Beautiful by Carole King as well. Such gorgeous songs. If Elton John is right and Gaga's new album is her version of Tapestry, then I will be one happy fan.

I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!!

'Beautiful' is so amazing. I'm with you. If Gaga would release an album similar to 'Tapestry' my heart would melt, just imagine the evolution.

I love carole, mum has had her "tapestry" album for years and when I was younger me and mum use to sing it in the car on the way to school. Such an amazing voice.

I remember anxiously waiting a year! for a HQ recording to finally be released. This performance was stunning. This song is so beautiful and it really suits her. I love seeing Carole's reaction it's very sweet. She's an amazing artist and I think Gaga did a great job paying respect to her work. I play it quite often and it makes me a bit sad too cause I was supposed to sing this at my grandmothers funeral, but the church wouldn't let me and I had to sing Mozart instead. Such nonsense, Carole is a modern day Mozart.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

Music

awesome performance!

i still watch it occasionally and continue to get emotional.
not only is Gaga's performance genuine and sincere, but the song itself reflects these qualities too.

i need a handful of honest, personal and relatable piano-driven ballads on LG5.

came here just to say how godawful Carole's music is :toofunny:

most of the time people "appreciating" her are not appreciating the music itself and I am sure you're just being as sentimental as Gaga is pretending to be here. this dorky virginal bore wrote some of the most dreadfully uninspired songs in existence, I swear. it's almost not funny she's found success.

...oh and this isn't a Carole King appreciation thread so don't call me whatever you need to feel like good homes export.

I do somewhat appreciate Gaga's performance... though even her theatrics couldn't breathe enough life into the wearisome songwriting.

I love this cover

My friend got to see Carole live the other day. He went to the James Taylor concert in Idaho, and Carole showed up, and they played this song as the encore together.

Carole King is a masterful songwriter and musician. Gaga is not pretending to be sentimental, she hold her hand in front of her mouth and tried not to cry. Carole is like an older Diane Warren. If you don't appreciate it, fine, but you cannot say that she didn't deserve the success when she obviously did. I guess everybody who heard Natural Woman and made Tapestry one of the best albums of the century agrees with me.

I was listening to this today,... one of my favorites!

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.

I like this cover, but it's too slow  and there's little flow. The struggle in playing the piano is real. I bet 10 years ago she wouldn't even sweat at playing something like this.
And a bit too much air in the voice. I know Gaga could do better, wish she would repeat this one.

actually one of her best performances.  She gives a masterclass in lyric interpretation.  And the piano playing is perfect IMO, the song didn't need anything else.

she wrote Natural Woman as much as Gaga wrote TIHTY and that's literally her only worthwhile song (for me).

Tapestry is dreadful and I honestly don't know how this could be the unpopular opinion :toofunny:

to each his own, naturally, so I didn't really say she doesn't deserve success as in sales or whatever, it's the universal acclaim that always had me scratching my head.
