She decided quality is better than quantity, music not the bling, and all that jazz.

So weird how quality and quantity/commercial success are so opposite in the music industry, quality should be what sell the more

Because she's an actual artist. One who writes her own material and doesn't have 100 collaborators on a track. She doesn't rely on the "it" producers. She speaks her mind and sometimes people don't like it. She's not innocent or just a bubble gum POP girl.

She never was and never will be.

If the quality of her music decreases to match what people would want commercially, I'd die. But it's Gaga and I'm pretty confident at this point she really dgaf about commercial success as much as some fans. :awkney:

If it happens cool. If it doesn't cool. Just because someone is commercially relevant today doesn't mean tomorrow people will care. I'd take longevity over commercial success any day.

Easy. Born This Way was polarizing and she needed a chill era but instead she served messy queen via ARTPOP and nobody wanted it! The end.

Damn, if only Gaga had that power of synthesis, everything would be just fine

She didn't milk the hell out of her albums. Plus she was over exposed, I'd expect the same thing to happen to The Weeknd.

The Weeknd's fame is no where near Gaga's level of fame though. Lady Gaga was THE phenomenon of the 21st century, whereas The Weeknd is just a male pop star I wouldn't even consider him "superstar level".

I think ARTPOP was too hyped and and the singles weren't well promoted. Gaga's team couldn't handle the situations. The media took advantage and dragged her down. ARTPOP was commercially successful but if you compare to prism it flopped and people left Gaga. This gives her the chance to make a huge comeback and cement her status as a legend.

ARTPOP wasnt relatable. The lyrics from applause made no sense to the GP therefore they didn't give the album a chance

REALITY

It's when she decided to become a real artist and a real musician. By no means am I trying to say that she want during The Fame and The Fame Monster eras, but it's very obvious that she started becoming an advocate and showing a more genuine side of herself during Born This Way, and everything after that.

Born This Way was also her most controversial era, a lot of people didn't like her when she started speaking up, they feel in love with the "mysterious pop star" and not the "girl behind the aura". The G.P. just wants pop music, they don't necessarily want the artist.

Because she didn't write basic commercial radio music á la Katy & Snake Swift :poot:

Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?
