Paparazzi - any pop song that can be converted into a quasi-piano sonata (using the term very loosely here of course) so masterfully is more than just a pop song. And that doesn't even account for the lyrics. Bad Romance - I almost chose DITD, but BR is iconic for a reason. It's signature Gaga, and does it so effortlessly. The nonsense hook had the world captivated like no song in the 200s. The Edge of Glory - my favorite is Yoü and I, but TEOG is another one of Gaga's masterpieces. BTW was another contender but its use of "orient" and "chola" knocked it down a few points. Gypsy - like TEOG, this was a hard choice. Other than using a slur in the chorus and as the title, Gypsy does best what it's supposed to do, out of any song on ARTPOP. It's a Bruce Springsteen/Elton John-esque anthem that just works, even if it is a little tacky (but camp isn't always bad). So that's that. Paparazzi and Poker Face (though Brown Eyes can replace Poker Face depending on day and mood) Bad Romance and Monster (DITD is easily 2 or 3rd once again depends on mood. But Bad Romace is in another tier) Hair (that synth in the chorus is Godly) and Judas (Bloody Mary is a cool 3rd) Applause and Venus.
