A group of scientists are claiming that although other intelligent life in other planets are certain to exist in a universe so vast, they may be far more rare than many experts hope.

Life as we know it in this planet with all the perfect factors such as planet size, distance from sun, stable atmosphere etc to all happen in the same planet are already highly improbable as it is.

But there is more...

New research over the past several years shows that Gas Giants (Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranius) further away in the solar system is a rare alignment. Without them wed be bombarded heavily with large asteroids causing serious harm in our planet. Most solar system do not appear to have several gas giants on the outer part of the goldilocks zone as we do

Additionally ultraviolet rays which would disturb any life based on amino acid genetics flood every known planet besides earth. Our core rotation providing our electromagnetic field is unlikely... On top of that, "Ozone" (O3) is the only known chemical bond of any kind to be able to form a stable layer high above to create a shield. The atmospheric proportions to allow that to happen have very little wiggle room to allow it

Although other life out there must exist, the percentage of planets to harbor any life at all, especially complex intelligent life according to this scientists is likely to be extremely low.

I think they're expecting all intelligent life to be exactly like humans. And all worlds to be a clone of earth.

I kind of hope and think that's not the case and like there are some weird ass planets with weird ass life that are intelligent but can only live on that planet or something.

Of course it can vary...

but ud expect all life to require consistancy and relative safety to be able to evolve even if its not based on amino acids and genetics as we know it.

regardless of how they evolve, inconsistant weather, destructive UV, asteroids bombarding you etc dont give u a chance to assemble something.

To evolve takes a long time, and most environments would destroy or disturb the process

so life is likely to exist but planets are unlikely to provide life :awkney:. Sounds like we know more bout lg5 then these scientists know!

Its not a contradiction

they are saying something stable, safe and consistant enough to provide life requires so many factors that all of them coming together is extremely low odds. That would make life especially complex intelligent life rare

But the universe is so huge that there must be at least some other environments besides earth that allowed life to evolve

its just that the percentage may be extremely low...

If only 1 in 10 Galaxies had life, that would still be 25 Billion species... 3X number of humans on earth!

What about mole people economy?

WHAT ABOUT MOLE PEOPLE?

Lols. I don't know though. Science hasn't always been right.

I don't know. I just wanna keep my hope up that intelligent life exists...

And it can take me away fom this place before I need to find away into another universe.

Im sure it exists. Whats in question is how common is it?

Depending on how rare it is, the nearest race could be so far away that we will never have contact

But the "WOW" signal gives me hope :)

oh okay. So there must be some life then

If we are the universe's only hope that worries me a lot tbh :neyde:

At least there's a chance that there's multiple universes...

Good luck getting to another universe though~

human beings are the most advanced form of life in the universe

i will maintain this until i am given proof otherwise.

not some dumb "but its so big there has to be something else smarter than us out there". shut up, were the best :sis: and thats a scary thought isnt it? heh.

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

i think there's life out there but i don't think there will ever be a human-esque species. There needs to be specific conditions to have a species evolve into what humans are and many planets don't have access to said conditions. I do believe that there is life that is on par or better than humans though. In terms of intelligence anyways.

We won't really know unless we discover them i guess :emma:

holy scheisse

It MAY be incredibly rare? We already know as fact how unique the planet is hence why we can't find even a trace of a micro-organism on another other celestial body... :interestinga:
