Haroon 49,685
It's a nice award to have but it doesn't make her any less of a great and successful artist There are loads of artists who never had a Grammy but still went to amazing places and have left their mark, if she doesn't win a Grammy then she'll be one of them, and if she does then she does I personally think her time will come, it's not that her material isn't Grammy-worthy (hence being nominated loads of times), it's just there was overall something better that year in that category according to the voters Kinda like with Leonardo DiCaprio, him not having an Oscar for so long didn't mean that he was any less of an actor, and eventually he was able to win one for a movie he worked in - I believe the same will happen for Katy Perry
Carmex 964
Katy Perry is still an undeniable pop icon. She has garnered a very nice amount of hits with only three studio albums. Her not having a GRAMMY award does not discredit any of her achievements at all.

StrawberryBlond 14,634
I didn't know politicians and a president had won before. WOW. It's not just recently that there's been really bad winners. Look up older winners like Starland Vocal Band, A Taste Of Honey and Christopher Cross and the kind of people they won awards over! The Best New Artist award has been cursed since 2011. Seriously, for the last 6 years, everyone who wins it turns out to be a one hit wonder or crashes and burns and is never heard from again. Nobody wants to win that award these days. Unless you're Meghan Trainor (she was in tears accepting that award she even put it in her new video, of all the cringey things). What gets me is that Katy keeps on missing out on awards because there's always something that's better. I just don't know how many times she can keep on being unlucky, though. It's got to a point where it's like the academy are nominating her just to take the piss and build her up just to disappoint her again. She's currently in 5th place in the "most Grammy nominations without winning" record, with 13. And she's only 5 nominations away from the all-time record. It just gets to a point where you're like...just stop nominating someone if you're going to embarrass them like that.
