Now that we have that out of the way, let's get on with the reaching this thread shall we

LG5 will be Gaga's "Like A Prayer", and I came to that conclusion after reading "Like A Prayer's" wikipedia page (specifically, the Background section) and noticing some eerie similarities:

"1988 was a quiet year on the recording front for Madonna."

2015/16 was a quiet year on the recording front for Gaga.

"Her marriage to actor Sean Penn ended and the couple filed for divorce in January 1989."

Her engagement to actor Taylor Kinney ended about two seconds ago.

"Madonna had also turned 30"

Gaga turned 30 just four months ago

"She commented for the May 1989 issue of Interview that her Catholic upbringing struck a feeling of guilt in her all the time:

Because in Catholicism you are a born sinner and you're a sinner all your life. No matter how you try to get away from it, the sin is within you all the time. It was this fear that haunted me; it taunted and pained me every moment. My music was probably the only distraction I had."

We all know that Madre Monster had a Catholic upbringing. We also know for a fact that there was a sudden spike in the amount of Catholic-related posts on her Instagram like two months ago.

Also, the Little Detectives were able to uncover some LG5 lyrics: "hear my sinners prayer; I am the fire", which sounds very "Like A Prayer"-esque tbh :firega:

Spoiler

"She came to the realization that as she and her fans were growing up, it was time for her to move away from the teen appeal to wider audiences, and en-cash on the longevity of the album market."

Sound familiar?

Gaga in her 2015 Billboard Woman of the Year interview: "I want to show women they don’t need to try to keep up with the 19-year-olds and the 21-year-olds in order to have a hit. Women in music, they feel like they need to f---ing sell everything to be a star. It’s so sad. I want to explode as I go into my 30s."

This makes sense :air:

And for those who say no and want her to keep the same old sound, bye. I want her to succeed. Like A Prayer was praised, had good sales, had an amazing tour, had some of Madonna's greatest lyrics and productions. It would be amazing to have Gaga doing it with her own vision.

It makes total sense. I just wish I wasn't weary of expecting/discussing about LG5 when we have nothing at all :air:

It does make a lot of sense, I feel like LG5 will be her most serious album to date, Like A Prayer is such a landmark album but the production has always been to dated for me to enjoy as much as I could have, I think it would be incredible for Gaga to do an updated version of the album, of course in her own style so that it won't be "reductive" :laughga:. Like A Prayer was also the beginning of experimentaldonna and I would love for Gaga to make more experimental music. I also wouldn't mind LG5 having six weeks at number one (I'll pass on the part where it debuted at 11), the 15 million copies sold worldwide, and the number one single along with three other top tens either.

Well hopefully... Like A Prayer is Madonna's best album imo.

It's fun, yet personal. It's experimenatl yet commercial. It's controversial yet well-accepted

It has great lyrics, great production, it doesn't boring, it doesn't get old... it's perfect!

It'd be great if Gaga had an album that defined her career this much and defined the course of Pop music like LAP did. Along wih a massive, incredible tour, just like Madonna's Blond Ambition!
