Top Songs of 2016 Singles Performances

I decided to put together a list of the singles performances of songs that reached the Top 4 in the Billboard 2016 year (mid November 2015 to now).

I thought it would be interesting to compare songs longevities against their peaks, as well as see who's dominating.

"NO" by Meghan Trainor is the worst performing song to reach the Top 4

My guess that that "Work", "Love Yourself" and "One Dance" will be the top 3 songs this year (don't know the order)

i never realized songs sometimes drop out from such high numbers like i'd expect Hello or Hotline Bling to get knocked out at like 87 or something

You get knocked out at #50 if you've been on the chart for over 20 weeks

It's because of the recurrent rule, if a song drops below 50 after 20 weeks or 30 after 52 weeks (I'm not sure about this one) then it is removed from the chart to make way for new songs. There is a hot 100 recurrent chart that shows songs that have been removed but you have to have a billboard business membership to view it.

Basically if it has charted for more then twenty weeks and the sales/streaming/radio of the song means that it charts lower then the top 50 then it will be removed from the chart, it will not be reinstated even if it rises above 50 again unless there is a special circumstance such as the artist dying
