I think she's just waiting until she's made her money on selling and creating really catchy and fun, accessible pop. I wouldn't blame her tbh. Also she only has 3 albums under Katy Perry. She could do a moody album like Ray or Light that is not bright or poppy, but somehow I see Katy still veering into catchy pop no matter her intent.
