It doesn't matter if there was no gun found. He was clearly reaching for something. A concealed weapon has the name concealed for a reason. It means it's hidden. If the suspect looks like he's reaching for something that is hidden, when the police officers are clearly yelling "Put your hands up," they should shoot. I don't care if he was reaching for a pen to cut them a check. He was reaching for something that was concealed.  At one point it looked like he was walking away then he walked back towards them while reaching  for something.

but than they should have shot him in the lack, leaving him "shocked" & surprised & most likely unable to do what he wanted to.

INSTEAD THEY SHOT STRAIGHT IN THE BREAST AREA TO MAKE SURE HE DIES!!! THAT. IS. WRONG.

and you see that scenario? at least to policemen armed with 2 high caliber weapons against another guy who may or may not got a weapon himself, in the middle of nowhere (so sure nobody will find out?!?!)

and if the guy had a gun or something like that with him, why not pull it out as quick as possible because of "his hate for the police, because he's black"?

There was no gun found tho. And reaching for something doesn't warrant death. That's just ****ed up. Like some have already stated, a taser would've sufficed. This was murder.

May I ask something...

Why wasn't he following the orders and kept his hand "reaching" for something like in his pants or smth ?

They told him to raise his hands MULTIPLE times, and he didn't do that. Sorry, but it's not officer's thing to try and guess if he has a gun or not.
He COULD be armed, they ordered him to raise his hands many times, he didn't listen and kept his hand behind him, sorry but they had the right to take action. That's just how it works. You follow the orders of police officer or and if not, they'll take action.

take actions means shooting you straight in your chest??

If they would, out of nowhere, stop you on the sidewalk and tell you to raise your arms wouldn't you be afraid, maybe so shocked that you can't follow the order? And than they had to "take action" and shoot you in the chest??

and another question (because it's not obvious from the video):

Why did they stop him?

everyone knows that cops will kill you if you look like you're reaching for a gun. i wonder if this noble guy was mentally in the right state of mind because he kept giving the officers reason to be suspicious by reaching for whatever it is he was reaching for.

and if he had a knife or bat or something then the cop would use a tazer but they didnt know what kind of weapon he had so they kept their guns out.

oh and no cop will aim for the legs or arms. if you miss and the perp has a gun then they can shoot back. center mass is always the target to make sure you hit your target.

I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.

some are told to shoot black people or shoot first and ask questions later:neyde:

My uncle used to be a cop. He said other than the back injury, he had to leave that job 'cause the people were so toxic. Apparently there are some cops that brag about how many "bad guys" they've roughed up and how badly they hurt them, like it's some kind of sport. Plenty of them have this very motto, especially when dealing with people from the East part of town which is a gang heavy (and mostly black) part of town.

It's gross but what is there to do?

Spoiler

Rhetorical question, there's plenty to be done about it but it won't be done. Bad cops will continue to assert their false authority and citizens, as well as good cops, will continue to suffer because of it.

This particular situation, I guess I partially understand it. He wasn't listening and looked like he was reaching, possibly for a gun in his belt/pants or some other weapon. They could've easily taken nonlethal shots or used tasers first though. Idk.

Whimsical bitch

They didn't know that he didn't have a gun, though.

The suspect wouldn't keep his hands up, reached behind to his back, had something in his hand and was walking towards the police officer.

Looks like a suicide by police to me.

You'd have to be an idiot to think that these police officers are trigger happy after three minutes of yelling stop.

They shot him to the ground. That was totally sufficient. They dont really have to shoot him death. Maybe he was confused whats going on, maybe he was in pain on the ground and couldnt raise his arms enough...

Absolutely. This is what I don't understand. If they can't physically see anything threatening how is a murder justified? How is the worth of a human life equalled to a suspicion?

Don't get me wrong, people should follow police commands if they were doing something wrong. But they shouldn't do it because they're scared they are about to have their life taken.

I understand that it looked like he had something but it's completely insane to me that the answer is to kill him. Shouldn't they be trained to handle the situation better? I can't believe someone is excused from killing another human because he may or may not have had a weapon.

And once again, if the possession of the weapon is apparently a valid for reason for killing someone, then CONTROL THEM.

There has to be something with him. Maybe he was under influence, he acted really weird and maybe thats why the police chased him. But to kill anybody that doesnt obey is not ok for me. Many people are not in proper mental state to actually understand the situation, they can become confused and petrified

In the US you can't really take that risk due to guns being legal. This guy not only didn't obey but he kept purposefully reaching or making the cop believe he was reaching for a gun. Cops are trained to shoot & kill people if they believe their life is about to be threatened.

As people above have said there has been plenty of unjustified shootings but this is not one of them.

Knife

What I don't understand is why they had to shoot him with a ****ing shotgun after already firing on him twice. :wtf:

Yeah we are here again. Gun laws. You dont need guns in ordinary life, I cant believe nobody didnt do anything with it after so many fatal and mass shootings in the US.

They shot him because he was intentionally being non-compliant, was reaching behind to his back, has something in his hand and was walking towards them. In this situation, their life is potentially in danger. If that happens, they are taught to protect their life by shooting at the center mass. Arms move too fast and aren't good targets. If an officer manages to take a suspect's legs out non-fatally, that still leaves the offender's hands free to shoot. His ability to threaten lives hasn't necessarily been stopped. Officers are trying to save their own lives, and often times, other citizens lived around the scene.

i understand why this is justifiable by American standards, but why on earth 3(?) grown ass men feel so threatened by an already shot guy laying on the ground... like just go there and handcuff him and check if he actually have a gun or whatever. They are acting like he's gonna explode or something.:toofunny:

Because it's pretty impossible to ban them :(

Guns are so commonplace that it is nearly impossible to outlaw them, and by doing so you are endangering people who are no longer able to acquire guns because they are unprotected in the situation somebody with a gun attacks them.

There are even larger consequences such as a civil war/unrest as people really do not want their gun rights taken.
