Which would make sense -- according to the Emmys' own website, the eligibility period to receive a nomination runs from Jan. 1, 2015 until Dec. 31, 2015. Lemonade, for all its accolades and cultural relevance, aired the night of April 23, well after the cutoff date, meaning it would be eligible for nominations in 2017.

I accept the stupid bought nomination argument but come on. She's deserving. What Didymus said is a possibility. We didn't know about Lemonade until the HBO announcement. Formation dropped in February, tje album and video was probably done and sent by that time.
