I agree! She should have her own music and have co-writers for her own songs.

I'm just shocked he insinuated she did it JUST for the credit. How do any of you know that she did not improve the song with that minor change?

Good point. It's weird that they would know exactly the extent of Gaga's input in the song and use it as a reason not to give her credit. Oh well. To be honest, I'd rather see Gagz win awards for her own songs anyway. TIHTY has a great message but it's just not a very good song musically speaking IMO.

Gaga is credited on the song as a songwiter just like Diane. Was the comite responsable for the nominations in the studio? How can they decide what is enough writting? They don't know how much she did.

I hope she doesn't attend.

F*ck them Emmys. F*ck them Oscars. Even the Grammys for snubbing ARTPOP.

We still have that beautiful masterpiece (TIHTY), no matter what people say about it. People have always tried to bring Gaga down for such ridiculous things.

But I'm glad she always stands proud and delivers the best work. So keep the awards, I just want to see my baby performing and releasing new music.

I don't really care. I'm over the TIHTY era. Not because the song, I think the song is magnificent, I'm over the award season TIHTY bullshît. The message of the song is being lost because stupid award shows. Besides I want Gaga to win an Emmy for acting and not writing a song. We all know she can write music. I want her to get her EGOT the traditional way. Not because of fringe categories.

E - Emmy for acting or writing a script or producing a television show. Even for producing a televised tour date is a bigger achievement. 

G - Grammy for original music not reading a children's book. Done

O - Oscar for acting, directing, producing or composing an entire score for a movie. Not for writing one song. 

T - Tony anyway she wins this is perfect because it is so outside her comfort zone.

I don't agree actually with the statement of the Tony award. I think Gaga would have an amazing chance at winning for stage as her acting career in the past was solely stage. Her theatrical approach to acting and performance art would work amazing on Broadway tbh.

I find it very odd the Lady Gaga isn't given credit. The category is for both Music & Lyrics not just lyrics like the Oscars. Diane has always said Lady Gaga had a big role in the music part of the song.

I just meant that she isn't as comfortable in theatre as she is writing music for an album. Even writing the music for a Broadway show would be amazing way for her to win a Tony, because it's a completely different approach to writing music than it is for an album. I would like to see her win awards for things outside her comfort zone not just things we already know she is good at.

Lyrics aren't the only part of a song that needs to be written, I'm pretty sure that in an interview they stated that she changed the actual music of the song from sad and defeated to more triumphant.

according to the Emmy Politics you must have at leats a 20% credit to the song. Gaga´s cue sheet wasnt enough so she was not even eligible in the first place. according to the emmys Gaga´s contribution was only about 10%. this makes sense since both her and diane said that Gaga really only changed the was of singing the song and a couple of melodies. the only way for gaga to have been considered was if she lied and altered her cue sheet to make it look like she wrote more of the song, which is dishonest.

when songs are finished and registered, credits are either fairly divided or negotiated, and then it's literally marked in percentages, so that royalties can be paid accordingly
