Correct me if I'm wrong @gagzus but who said anything about her just having to tweet about it? :emma: That's not the only thing she can do, she's done a lot more for a host of other issues

i didn't say specifically how she had to talk about it, she can make appearances at rallies like she did for DADT, marriage equality etc in the modern age teenagers assume everything revolves around twitter

Because she'll only get hate. Should I remind you when JT mentioned something like that and he got loads of hate comments for "Stealing their culture" and **** like that.

Gaga is smarter than that.

So she only spoke up about gay rights because there was no risk of backlash? :gaycat:

I'm glad she hasn't. It would be good if she commented about the police brutality and what not but why should she use that hashtag?

It's not just about tweeting, it was an example of what everyone does.

don't take her activism for granted. She's done so much for so many causes throughout her career she doesn't owe anything, why don't people get mad at the celebrities that stay silent about everything

she does when the major players in her career have been black; her ex-manager, Akon, some of her team on tour, some of her dancers/friends, appropriating black culture MANY times and almost all of her collaborators musically have been black; Akon, Trina, DLC, Dallas Austin, Rodney Jerkins, Beyonce, Boomkack as a choreographer, Richy as her current choreographer, one of her idols Michael Jackson even wanted to collab with her and she admired him.

A lot of her career is aided by black people so yes she does.

Well, you brought up that "example" three times as if everyone agreed that was everything she could do, that's why I commented about it :unicorn: I mean, you literally said: "Go on the streets and make manifestations, leave Twitter. It's useless." as if we should do that and not Gaga, even though the fact that she's not out on the streets is actually part of the argument against her :air:

People would send her hate and say "you're not black go away"

actually anyone who follows the true values of BLM wouldn't, BLM was established to tell white people that their lives matter and to educate white people on the struggle of black people in the world. They would welcome any woke white person who wishes to join and help them

it's not like she said that she doesn't support BLM, the best decision for her career is to support silently because she'll only get backlash for being vocal about it

its a really controversial topic that people are a lot more passionate and opinionated on than gun control, gay rights, and cyber bullying

I agree, sadly not everyone follows the true values you're talking about. And I find it so ridiculous when I see black people on Twitter bashing white people for supporting BLM movement. Anyway, no matter what Gaga does with BLM, people won't be happy about it :

Kim Kardashian, for example, didn't tweet about it at first, and people were like "you don't care about black people, you don't acknowledge them although your husband is black blablabla" and after she tweeted about it other people said "you're not black go away".

As many of the comments above say it might cause blacklash and some might attack her for that. Don't forget she is always at higher position and she has to be as neutral as possible, when it comes to supporting a movement or not. I see it's unneeded since she speaks about equality for everyone and gun control.

although some of this is true there's a big difference between doing what is right and what is easy, she's never taken the easy way out of other equality issues so idk why she would now.

President Trump

Because they would likely retaliate against her for not being black herself. I'm not trying to be rude

Nonono, i meant that people think that tweeting about something will be useful, but it's not. A tweet won't change anything, so if people want to really change something the most powerful thing they can do is go on the streets and make noise
