Gaga To Cover US Vogue Next Year?

As per a member of The Fashion Spot, some information about American Vogue cover stars over the next few months has been leaked (Gigi Hadid + athletes, Kendall Jenner, Lupita Nyong'o and Emma Stone are apparently lined up for covers this year.) The person also revealed that Lady Gaga is due for a cover in 2017 but it hasn't been decided yet.

Someone on the forum speculated that because March covers have typically featured pop stars over the past few years Gaga might land it again, however the uncertainty about her cover could be due to the Presidential Election: it is no secret that Vogue are courting Hillary Clinton for another cover and it's widely believed that should she win, she will pose for them. So the powers at Vogue could be waiting for Hilary to win to then feature her on the March cover, it's the second biggest issue of the year and their annual 'Power Issue' so it makes a lot of sense, it's also the month Michelle Obama graced her first cover for them. Gaga, of course, also makes a lot of sense for a March issue too and there is also some speculation that Emma Watson may be in the running for the March cover too, she has Beauty and the Beast coming next year and apparently they are going to be heavy on the promotion of the film.

The Fashion Spot has many reputable sources, with lots of people working in the industry with many connections, so I would be inclined to believe that a new Vogue cover is definitely in the works for her next year. The March cover and Hillary Clinton stuff is just speculation and is an interesting theory at the vey least. Either way, if we see Gigi, Kendall, Lupita and Emma over the next few issues then the Vogue source is correct and we'll likely be seeing Gaga back on the cover at some point early next year. All of this is important because it's yet another scrap of information to add to the LG5 puzzle and might give a hint as to when the LG5 era will begin, or at least when it will have already started by. Take from this what you will and if you want to read for yourself you can check out the original information in the second to bottom post on this page and the Hillary idea towards the bottom of this page.

I've read somewhere that the September issue is the most important one. Is that true and why?

September is the most important and biggest issue of the year. It's the big fall fashion issue and is meant to kick off the fall season. It is very popular to advertisters and often features hundreds of pages of ads which means big money for Vogue.

The March issue is the Spring season version of that and so is usually the second biggest of the year.

Talent always gets the biggest issue of the year and the second biggest issue of the year

@MaryJaneHolland June, July and August issues are typically much smaller and less read, same is true for January and February. I'm not too sure why but it's largely timing, people aren't buying as many magazines those times of the year for some reason and so the issues aren't as attractive to advertisers. If you compare the size of a US Vogue July issue to a September one, the difference in thickness is astounding. March and September are like telephone books, July is much, much thinner.

Fall fashion is massive business in the industry and it gets a lot of attention. There's a lot of information out there on the business of magazines, lots of sales and circulation figures and if you're interested in that kind of stuff it's well worth reading more about it :)

I get having Hillary on the march one because it's the "power issue" but wouldn't it make more sense to have her on the January one since that is the month she is sworn in? I know it isn't as big but it would be more relevant then

I guess they could have her on any month and it would be a big deal but I think they would almost definitely wait for March. The January issue would come out in mid-December you see, meaning it would have to be photographed in November at the very latest, plus the January issue is usually a filler issue: I don't think they would waste the advertising potential of a Hillary cover on a throw-away month that generally sells quite poorly.

March would come out in mid-February so they would still be tight on time but it just makes more sense over all, it would be maximum impact, plus plenty of exposure (and money) for Vogue. It would be a real statement to have the first woman President on the cover of the Power Issue. :)

My line up:

Sep: Kendall

Oct: Viola David (She deserves it and she has the movie and the tv show)

Nov: I would say Lupita, here for a back-to-back cover with amazing black ladies. Anna loves her and she has this Broadway play.

Dic: Hillary C.

Jan: I don't know  Since it's award season, probably somene with the oscar/golden globe buzz at the time.

Feb: Emma Watson

March: Gaga

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.

winter = fall at least fashion wise :toofunny:

Vogue editors should visit Mexico in plain October. They'll get naked and buy some chanclas at H&M instead since it's still pretty hot in autumn
