Lord Temptation

I'm surprised more attacks like this and the one in Orlando aren't happening, considering how loose gun laws are in America.

yeah but i didn't live then and i didn't experience it so from my whole existence of living, this is the worst it's ever gotten.

Violence, in general, has consistently decreased every year...

So it's the media feeding into your fear.

I don't get it, most black people are being killed by black people and most victims of police shootings are white and nobody is concerned about it, but when a white police officer kills a black person, only then it turns into a nation-wide outrage

Yes but you can't just look at numbers and go "OOOOOOOH."

Yes, there are more white people who are killed by police officers HOWEVER there are more white people than black people in America. There is a higher percentage of the black population killed than compared to white people.

THAT'S WHY STATS CLASS IS IMPORTANT.

It's like saying:

Town population: 2,000

Town murders: 100

City population: 30,000

City murders: 150

Yes, the "city" may have more ACTUAL murders but it is more likely for you to be murdered in the "town" because:

Town murder rate = 5%

City murder rate = .5%

Yes, that's true—“Although black men make up only 6 percent of the U.S. population, they account for 40 percent of the unarmed men shot to death by police this [2015] year” (Washington Post)—but it doesn't justify the media ignoring cases when the victim was white, like this one (of which I heard nothing on the news): https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jul/07/dylan-noble-fresno-white-lives-matter-police-shooting-video

The main problem here is not racism but unnecessary violence from police officers.

Last week I went to Dallas and saw 50+ people proudly recieve their U.S. citizenship. People from all over the world, Mexico, India, China, Canada, etc. It's been just one week and I can't even remember how many people have died of gun violence since then (let alone since the beginning of this year). Can you imagine what these people risked to become a resident of this f***ed up country? Can you believe people come HERE to be accepted, freed, and safe? This is not the America we or others want it to be. These multiple acts of hatred prove how much we need to change our views on guns, before we all end up in situations like this.

I bet the media will blame all of this on Trump. Meanwhile the terrorist group Black Lives Matter will continue spreading hate and inciting more violence. How lovely.

If the other side thinks that solving this problem will be by murdering cops in the streets, you are sadly mistaken!

I don't believe it is a racial issue. I think social media, George Soros and NWO have made things more toxic than ever for everybody. I think everyone is being purposely divided for more sinister reasons. Look people DIE all of the time in Law Enforcement custody. A white man was shot in the back by a police officer last year in the fall. A six year old white boy was shot multiple times by two black cops..........No coverage??? Same scenario as with Alton. Why didn't the media report that?

One thing I do agree with is that Law Enforcement are being poorly trained. ALTON should not be dead! Officer was an idiot! I want solutions like anybody else, but I don't think murdering our law officials is going to be the answer to the problem. It will only make things WORSE!!!!!

Someone else finally said it. Thank you.

"All lives matter" is a beautiful ideal, I think everyone would agree. But, c'mon, we all know that the reality is that certain groups' lives are less respected than others and that's an issue that must be addressed...when ppl say "black lives matter" they're not saying that white, asian, latin lives don't, they're saying "hey, black lives matter too", so don't just dismiss them (us)...

However, this "us against them" mentality that I see being propagated as "being political" is not the way to go...it's only going to generate more resentment and hatred, that will eventually explode in acts of violence like the one we've seen in Dallas. Make no mistake: yesterday's events are just as tragic as black ppl being cowardly murdered by the police

If peace is truly the goal, it's only achievable by helping ppl to see themselves in each other, by making people understand that black, gay, female, whatever, are just superficial differences clouding the fact that we're actually all the same! We're all trying to satisfy our physical needs, we're all trying to feel loved, to feel important in our communities, we all want what's best for our countries, for our families, for the world, we all have people who love us and depend on us...there's just so much making us all the very same thing: human.

Black ppl lives (and all the other rights we're all entitled to) being respect is a victory not for black ppl, but for society as a whole. And the same goes for all the other marginalized groups.

Peace will only be achieved when whoever holds a weapon looks to the other end of it and sees an equal, bc as long as they see "the opposing team", there will be violence.

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

You're also ignoring the fact that black men murder cops FAR more than cops murder black men.

No surpising, as the Dallas snippet was a black supremacist who said he wanted to kill white people.

Hmmm, I wonder if BLM had any influence over him..... Duh!!!

Racism plays a part of it. Don't discount that but, yes, there is unnecessary violence from police to people of all races.
