Second suicide attack in that country today. The first near the U.S. consulate.

Hopefully nobody died in this attack as well.

What is wrong with these people who do these things?  To attack in Medina, just seems like an attack against their own people. Is no one safe from this madness?

My condolences to the survivors...

They're not their own, they don't consider them to be Muslims...

Something similar happened in 70s

Daesh is formed from same type of people...

I see. I studied the Middle East, but they're ethnic groups and sects I'm still trying to understand. I know about the division between Sunni and Shiite. Isn't Danesh a form of Wahabism?

I'll never understand it. All I see is how some people want to inflict as much pain and grief that they can. It reminds me that "misery loves company".

It was a joke because you called it Danesh by accident :laughga:

To answer your original question, yes Daesh follows the Wahhabi way.

Well not really... There are so many sects, groups, subgroups... Wahhabi is suppose to be derogatory term for Salafis, but the issue here is that many Salafi scholars spoke against bin Laden and Al-Qaeda and that whole takfiri (excommunication) ideology, before 9/11. Daesh/ISIS is now worse version of Al-Qaeda, they are modern day khawarij

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khawarij

If you remember Awlaki, the American preacher who died in targeted killing in Yemen, he was inspired by Sayyid Qutb

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sayyid_Qutb

so they're nowadays called Qutbis, he wrote about rebellion against the (muslim) rulers and governments, Western influence and corruption in muslim world etc. He was an extremist. He was not a scholar, but if you see any ISIS fanboys on social media, they all quote him and praise him like he was the smartest and most inspirational person ever blahblah.

This is too long topic to cover here, So I don't think I'll continue.. I studied these things long time ago, I forgot a lot.

I didn't put Danesh, but it was Android's autocorrect... frustrating typing anything novel on mobile these days...

Thanks for answering, tho...
