Carmex 964
Back in 2011, she basically dedicated her career to speaking about gay rights. Along with speaking out about HIV/AIDS awareness and bullying. She released "Born This Way" which is basically an LGBT+ anthem, and all throughout 2011 and 2012 she was out at events and charities and etc speaking out against bullying and speaking up about gay rights. She even created her own foundation with her Mother and helped the LGBT youth who needed advice, shelter, etc. She even met with Obama to discuss anti-bullying laws. That being said, she wasn't the only but she was ONE OF the many forces in the music industry who supported gay rights and spoke out against bullying during that time. I truly believe Gaga was being genuine and in a way threw away her commercial success to help the LGBT community. Now in America, gay marriage is legal in all states and I would like to say being gay has become way more widely accepted. That being said, do you believe Gaga had a hand in helping change the world (at least America) to be the way more gay friendly country we know today? ryanripley 86,575
i'm gunna say yes and it may not be a case of "oh gays are actually okay now because lady gaga said so" directly but a more butterfly effect: if born this way never happened, millions wouldn't be influenced and empowered to fight, gay marriage could still be illegal today etc https://goo.gl/xMgMvJ

She went hard for it and for that I'll forever appreciate her, she didn't end her support with a single or a music video, she actually went out and spoke about things and helped people, unlike others. Ronk 14,762
Yes she has helped change the world for LGBT. And she changes the world in many other ways as well. She changes it for kids who were bullied for any reason, and for anyone who needs a lift in self confidence and self esteem, gay or not. She also changes the world by informing others they have greatness within them. And mostly she changes the world through kindness and helping others. "Don't let the world change your smile, make your smile change the world." - Lady Gaga "You have the ability to change the world with just an act of kindness," Chris Rosati "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." ― Mahatma Gandhi Gaga changes the world every day by living a life of kindness. If only one person follows, her impact is real. Many follow. I live outside the space time continuum.
