I assumed that was the case :P I was just wondering if there was anything more to it than that and if there was something inaccurate about it

I've read that you can pay for fake followers even if you aren't the user. For example I could pay for Gaga to get an extra 10,000 followers. So I wouldn't be too quick in dragging an artist for this because it's not necessarily their fault. Clearly Katy doesn't really have 90m followers but I'd be surprised if there was a celebrity that did have 100% real followers.

Some accounts may be duped tbh. I've made like 2 Twitter account, one for my messy/pop side and another for my xxxrated stuff. 

Or some people might just abandon the old account and start a new one and refollow the artist, so I think it's kind of hard to estimate how people follow certain artist (with real numbers).
